[ It takes her a moment to reply. Changes that came with age that he hid-- reasonable. No leader would like to appear more frail than they were to the public. Yet she's learned enough from Noctis to know the toll his father had taken in order to maintain the barrier about his Lucis' capital city. And then, of course, there are the signs upon Somnus himself. The Founder King is youthful, but she's noticed his own scarring upon his hand where a ring no longer sits, then of other scars whenever he would discard his armguards and robes.  To that end, his more youthful visage was a telltale sign of how much he had given in a failing body to preserve his world during a time when dark turmoil ran rampant. His life was forfeit at a young age, yet the sacrifice ensured the foundation of kingdom.

And then there was also Noctis. He has scars. Not from the ring, but others, deep wounds that haven't healed since childhood.

She speaks softly, reflective:  ]

All three kings of Lucis here... [ Have scars or markings, then. ] They give so much to the world.

[ Yet how noble they are, for being committed to preserving the world at any cost to themselves. Should they all love their kingdom, their people, and their world, of course the selfless would choose to undertake that price to protect that which they love. She empathizes deeply with this sentiment; respects it. For Somnus, she's fallen for him because of it. ]
