Oh, well... I mean, it's definitely advanced enough to have space travel. Technology's pretty rockin', but when I got to space, I felt like we were like, primitive beings compared to a lot of the rest of the universe. We didn't even know for sure there was sentient life outside our planet! Sorta. I mean. The government probably had an idea, and the Garrison definitely did at some point, since those bastards tried covering things up when Shiro escaped back to Earth but that's a whoooooooole other story...
