Video: Achtom 6th - Early Morning
[Cor was not intending, initially, to do this as a video. Such requests would certainly go better if someone has a face to go with the voice, can see the type of person they'd be working with. He's as stern as ever, even if there are subtle indicators that he's been exerting himself recently. The ever-present jacket discarded for once, sweat clinging to his face, breathing slightly elevated.]
I know I am not alone in being unused to such... quiet. I suspect many of you are from worlds where such unquestionable peace is not the norm. I am a soldier, as I have ever been, and there is familiarity in the discipline of body and mind.
[A noise off screen, an animal perhaps? Something dying? A lazy king snoring? The deepening scowl on Cor's face makes it apparent that whatever it is Cor isn't happy about it.]
If anyone would like to join me in the mornings for training routines perhaps we can teach one another of the fighting styles of different worlds.
[Again a noise, this time more like a chainsaw or motor boat than an animal and Cor takes a moment to wipe sweat from his brow, heave a sigh and his expression turns a touch apologetic.]
Also if anyone has access to a chess board or mahjong table they'd be willing to share I would greatly appreciate it.

Action:
One plate is left on the counter with a cover and thermos of coffee for Ignis while Cor takes the rest into Regis' room, hoping against hope that the smell of fresh coffee and eggs will rouse him.]
Majesty, it's well past time to get out of bed.
no subject
If this is a trick, I am got to freeze your feet to the floor and tickle you mercilessly until you apologize.
no subject
[You know better, Regis. But he does come closer, setting the plates aside on the night stand, two mugs of coffee in hand. One black, one doctored to the point of hardly being coffee anymore.]
Scoot over.
[Take that suggestion or he's going to sit on you Regis.]
no subject
I'm going to find a place someday. Mark my words.
[In the meantime, what do you have over there and how many non-breakfasty colors does it come in?]
no subject
[But he settles in next to Regis, toeing off his boots and taking the offer of sliding under the covers. The sweetened monstrosity of a coffee is set down first, though, in favor of shoving a piece of toast at Regis.]
Nothing fancier than eggs and toast, I'm afraid. You'll have to wait a bit before we can manage much more.
no subject
Regis huffs again softly, but takes the toast and looks it over.]
Well, it's not lime green at least.
[He takes a bite and then wiggles closer to Cor so that they are pressed right against each other. Look you made him crawl out of his nice warm nest, now you get to replace the lost heat.]
no subject
It seems to be calibrating itself back to somewhat normal. [A shrug as he turns to shovel some eggs onto his own toast, bringing the plate back with him to prevent crumbs getting all over as he shoves a large bite into his mouth.]
no subject
[Regis is pleased Cor accepts the cuddling, taking another bite of toast when it becomes obvious that his friend isn't going to push him away. Why, he even drops his free arm around Cor's shoulders, though this hand doesn't settle there. Instead, he reaches carefully and slowly for the cup of coffee on the end table.]
no subject
You're not subtle.
[As though he doesn't know exactly what you're doing, you fiend.]
Yet another improvement to see about making. Not that I suspect there will be much need for potions if things remain as they are.
no subject
[Regis grins and then snaps his fingers, banishing the cup of coffee to the Armiger so he can access it whenever he wants it. He the lets his hand fall over Cor's shoulder.
At least he finishes his toast before summoning it back out?]
Unfortunately, there are always accidents and I don't trust these random 'weather disturbances' to always damage places that are uninhabited. It might have been easy for the robots to handle; they aren't damaged as easy as we humans are, but now that there are more humans around, eventually someone is going to be hurt.
no subject
[Even if he doesn't like the idea of Regis wearing himself out for the sake of so many. Not that Cor's concerns have ever stopped him before.
He's a little surprised when Regis leaves his arm around his shoulders, expression going soft and appreciative for a moment, leaning into the arm around him just a little.]
Very well... we'll see what we can do about getting the blasted thing recalibrated.
no subject
[Regis leans into Cor, closing his eyes and humming appreciatively as he sips his coffee. He may miss the softening of Cor's expression because of that, but his friend isn't pushing him away, so he's going to enjoy the closeness while it lasts.]
That way, you aren't just enabling me and my inability to leave things well enough alone.
no subject
[The Ignis in his time is better equipped than this one to deal with a variety of things but there was nothing that could be done to improve the touch screen options. ]
Perhaps we can see about some better options as well.
no subject
[Regis chuckles and then leans over to press a friendly kiss to the man's cheek.]
Your king has now rewarded you for your efforts, since I know asking you to take a day off is as useless a request as asking me to take one off is.
no subject
He manages to stammer out one syllable before he has to clear his throat and try again.]
I- It seems to be the overwhelming consensus here that I should take some time "off duty" so to speak.
no subject
I do believe the consensus to be right, however I am certain you do not.
no subject
[The scowl would be more convincing if he weren't still blushing.]
And what am I to do with myself while I am relaxing? Other than wondering at what I could be accomplishing if I weren't wasting time.
no subject
[The question would be a joke in another tone, but right now it is a completely serious. Regis vanishes his coffee back into the Armiger so he can take Cor's nearest hand into his own.]
Training is one way to keep hands busy, but that training is for a destructive act. You should find something to do with your hands that creates as well. It will help keep you in balance.
no subject
I'm afraid once you appointed me as Marshal I had even less time to attempt to find myself something else to do and you, thankfully, finally seemed to have given up.
no subject
I need to have words with my future self.
[Cor is absolutely deserving of the position; he already does the work and then some, but that is no reason to give up on making the man relax once and a while.]
no subject
[Would... would he really be so adamantly against appointing Cor as his Marshal now? Of course his first thought is that Regis thinks him undeserving of the position and the very idea of it makes him sit up straighter, draw away slightly. His stomach sinking and he immediately dismisses his plate to the armiger. He's very distinctly not hungry anymore.]
no subject
What in the name of the Astrals do you think I mean? Obviously as tense as you are, I should never have given up on making sure you took up a hobby! Why, I have half a mind to make you lay down so I can give you a massage to see if there is any saving the muscles in your back.
no subject
My back is fine, Regis.
[A blatant lie but he's truly convinced everything is fine just as it is.]
no subject
[That is most decidedly not fine.]
And you didn't answer my question.
no subject
[He is not amused.
He is also drinking some of that delightful black coffee instead of acknowledging that there ever was a question.]
