Tony's question took Gladio by surprise so much that he was quiet for a while, not sure how to answer it. Though hearing a little more about Tony's family was nice. He kind of wished he'd carry on like that. The little bits and pieces weren't always enough to paint a full picture.

"Not entirely sure." Gladio answered honestly. "It was 50/50 if I'd even have a future. My duty to the King could have come into play at any moment. But... my dad was able to live to a good age while being a Shield. He had kids. I guess in the back of my mind it's somethin I've always wanted but never with much certainty." Because his future had never been certain.
