Hello, this is Era.
I am not skilled at these kinds of things, but I will do my best.
[ Not the most familiar voice on the network, as she so rarely delves beyond texting, but she feels this is important enough to ignore her own comfort. Her voice is soft and melodic, her accent posh and British with a lilting undertone of something almost Irish. She weighs her words carefully before she speaks them, despite having an outline for her speech in front of her. ]
In light of recent events I thought it prudent to make amends with the locals who have so graciously accommodated our unexpected arrivals over the past two years. Whether they are complicit in our kidnappings or not is irrelevant, and I will not begrudge them joy over the prospect of their world being healed. They needed help and — for whatever reason and by whatever means — we were brought here to aid a dying people and their home.
They have not needed to treat us with such kindness and generosity. For all that we are inadvertent prisoners of this city they have done what they can to treat us as guests, using their limited knowledge and resources to improve our quality of life as best they can.
I cannot speak to those of the research towers, but the majority of the populace has always been welcoming to Offworlders. That earnest curiosity they have about our lives and worlds is something they are delighted to have reciprocated, even if they themselves have so few answers on hand.
The sense that I have had is that they are apprehensive to dig too deep. If we want them to push past that apprehension on our behalf we need to earn their trust, and to earn trust we must learn to treat them as equals.
Offworlder or native to this land, we are all in this together. We are all people, no matter what manner of body our souls call home.
And so as a show of good faith, of thanks, and of apology for causing them to feel afraid, I have received blessing from the city council to hold a celebration for the natives. It will be held the first weekend of the upcoming month and be located in the Arena. The celebration will be an exhibition of sorts, where we can teach them about ourselves and where we come from.
I am still in the very early stages of planning, but am hoping for musical performances, the sharing of tales from our homes, grand sparring matches to show off skills in combat, or dance... Anything you can think of to share a piece of your home with those who have shared so much of theirs with us. Little souvenirs they can take with them would be lovely as well—little pins, or plushies. Something physical they can keep as a memory.
If anyone would like to participate, or to assist in the planning, please let me know.

I know it is frustrating for people to feel stuck here and not get to choose when they can leave... but the natives do not even have that option.

There is so much focus on what is beyond the walls, or what is hidden within them, but little focus on what is right in front of us. The natives are just as much a part of this world as what is outside, and I want to help them.

...Perhaps an obstacle course of sorts... Racing your nephews through a series of fun puzzles that require creative use of your abilities? If that is something you would all be comfortable with, of course.

And for trinkets... Would origami flowers unique to your home be something you would enjoy?

Noct already agreed to help, though this particular idea only just came to mind. If someone controls the nanobots to make responsive puzzles it could be quite a fun challenge for you.

I do not have picture books, but I do have books with pictures. [Flower meanings from another world, and different kinds of food recipes.] Something like that could work.
... I do not know how to do origami, but I practice penmanship. Do you think they would like quotes and passages?

The time of the celebration will coincide with Eorzea's Moonfire Faire. With use of the nanobots it should be easy enough to replicate some elements from that.

There are lots of people here that I want to protect, and it really is a big worry that one bump in the road turned so many opinions against the whole of us overnight, you know~? But I see, I see, this is a pure-hearted-angels-exclusive party--thanks for clearing that up! I'll go back to my original plans and stay far away.

That's an absolutely fantastic idea. I can't offer much myself in terms of combat spectacles, though I can do a fencing presentation if need be? I can also play the violin and piano, if we can find something portable to get to the arena. I already have a violin.
And I can try to drat up some Bitter Rabbits. I ran a toy and confections company back on my home world and our biggest sellers were always our mascot, the Bitter Rabbit. The hard part would be thinking up a theme for them.

There is no such thing as a 'pure-hearted angel'. I merely don't want resentful arseholes to participate, lest they fuck shite up worse than they already have.
They are trapped here with us, and have been trusting us not to cause them harm. Now they cannot be sure that we will not use our abilities against them, and are understandably wary of our presence.
If you resent them for it then you are part of the problem.
