[ A rare video from Era, but it's immediately evident just why she's chosen video instead of her favoured text format—she isn't the focus of the video.

Hythlo is dressed up in a simple ghost costume, large tail wagging as he looks up at her (and the camera). ]

Oh no! Who replaced my sweet little egg with such a big, scary ghost?

[ The 'big, scary ghost' lets out excited 'gwees' and other small amaro noises, fluffing up his feathers and lifting his little wings to appear even bigger and scarier.

Era lets out an overly dramatic gasp, as though oh-so-terrified by this spooky spirit. Hythlo picks up his jack-o'-lantern bucket and taps it on the ground a few times. ]

You'll spare me for a treat? What a benevolent spirit you are!

[ She puts a handful of dried fruits into the bucket, which prompts Hythlo to wiggle his head out from under his costume to immediately eat all of his treats.

Struggling to stifle her laughter, Era ends the video. ]

[ She adds a typed note shortly after: ]

My ferocious beast will be going out to trick-or-treat! 👻 All Saint's Wake isn't till the end of the month, but it is safer for him in the first half.

He will be visiting shops and the temples. Please be kind to him. He is still just a baby.

If you wish to give him treats Hythlodaeus loves fruits and dark meats, or a gentle pat on the head.

If anyone causes him harm I will know who did it and your life will be most thoroughly forfeit.

((ooc: plz be kind to the oh-so-scary 2' tall ghost 😤 he'll be accompanied by the oh-so-intimidating Narangerel, who glows a faint golden aura & leaves tiny wisps of blue energy with every footstep.))

[Hummy looks...a little apprehensive about this quite-possibily-a-real-ghost at first, but seeing that familiar pumpkin seems to quell her fears. She leans forward excitedly, clapping her paws together.]

Trick-or-treat! How exciting!! I didn't know if anyone here celebrated Halloween, nya!! I had only just learned about it before coming here to Havenwell. I don't have a shop, but I definitely have some treats I can share! Should I bring them to the temple??

I learned about Halloween in another world, but my own has a festival similar enough. I've always found it quite fun.

You are more than welcome to accompany Hythlo, Hummy. He will be leaving in an hour and start his journey at Ohma's temple. I can have a little ghost costume and cute treat bucket ready for you by then as well, if you would like to dress up.

If you mean in costumes, I like to dress up every year for the holiday celebrations. The children always love it.

For All Saint's Wake I once wore a ghost costume similar to Hythlo's. That was my favourite, though I liked the werewolf costume I had a few years ago — it had a fluffy tail and ears!

But my favourite is Starlight Celebration. [ Remembering that Hummy is a child herself, Era realizes she should approach this differently than she would with an adult... ]

It's similar to what you might know as 'Christmas'. Children write their wishes for presents in envelopes and place them beneath a properly decorated pine or fir tree, then the Saint of Nymeia gathers them all up to give to the goddess Nymeia herself! [ Said with the appropriate amount of dramatic awe. ] Then, on the eve of Starlight, the Saint of Nymeia sets out to deliver presents to all the children of the realm.

But it's a lot of work, you know! With so many good little boys and girls, it's hard to do it all on his lonesome. It wouldn't do for any of them to be forgotten! So he tasks his Little Helpers with making sure every child wakes up in the morning to a lovely gift and that's just what we do!

Every year I get to wear my Saint's Little Helper hat and robe and make sure no little boy or girl is forgotten. That is my favourite 'costume' out of all of them!

Ah— I already know you're a good little girl, so it's alright if you know, but don't tell anyone else, okay? Our identities are supposed to be a secret!

[ Please get super excited about Starlight Celebration, Hummy!!! Then she can have fun being a Saint's Little Helper again this year! 🥺 ]

[The video feed cuts off, as Hummy is on the move! The reception is a little muffled, almost like the communicator is in a bag (because it definitely is in a little bag she's carrying on her back as she makes her way to the rendezvous point.)]

Christmas! [That was another relatively new holiday for her.] How wonderful! Learning about other world's celebrations is so exciting, nya! The girls dressed up like Santa and handed out treats before the annual Christmas concert back in Kanon Town - I wonder if they were secretly helpers too!

...Ah, don't worry, though! I promise I won't tell anyone!!
