Rin's a bit lonely, with Miss Aqua gone. Mm, and it's hard to look for food here, when Rin doesn't know where she's allowed to take food from? Rin's just wondering... is there anyone who can show Rin what she's allowed to take?

[ Guess who is actually sleeping in the gardens about half the time, and ... probably pinching food wherever she can get it. What is money, she's never had it and has no idea how to manage it. ]

If you're ever feeling lonely, you can drop by! Or if the weather does get bad, or all that stuff. I'm not the best person to come to for good home cooking, though.

Rin can do that! And Rin's not the best cook, but Rin can manage over a campfire...

Because the grown-ups are going to worry about cute little you!

Oooooh. But Rin doesn't want them to worry!

There's no point feeling bad about it. Adults will always worry about kids! And then you can make them feel better by being nice and safe and acting cute, and giving them big hugs as thanks for their trouble! So everyone ends up happy. The secret is, people love worrying about other people!

Rin can do that. [ She nods ] Rin supposes that's true... Lord Sesshoumaru worries about Rin a lot.

That's because he feels responsible for you! That's how it is between kids and adults. Oh, and he probably also loves you and would hate to see you hurt.

Rin isn't sure about that. Lord Sesshoumaru doesn't really like humans very much! But Rin is his ward, so he is supposed to look after Rin.

That may be true, but it's still possible to have a soft spot for someone. Sometimes you just don't like people very much, but there are still exceptions. Didn't he make you his ward himself?

[This Sesshoumaru always sounds so . . . secretly soft on the inside.]

That's true! But it's coz Rin helped him.
