[Nita should have sent this sooner, really - she's already gone through all of her books - but settling into a routine in Havenwell and securing research positions for later has taken up more time than she'd planned.

Still, talking now was better than putting it off forever!]

Hey, Kyoko! It's Nita; just wanted to check in - how've you been? I'm ready to head to the library again, so I was wondering if there were any books you wanted to talk about...?

[ The response doesn't come until some hours later, and Kyoko looks a bit surprised as she peers down at the screen; sure, Nita had mentioned contacting her, but she'd kinda forgotten. She doesn't even get many texts, honestly.

If Nita happens to look closely, she might notice shadows under Kyoko's eyes, but her demeanor is otherwise pretty chipper and energetic. ]

Hello! I'm doing well! --And you? It's nice to hear from you! I actually haven't been to the library yet this week, myself. [ Though, now that she thinks of it, she should probably ask the director if she can dash out at some point between scenes to return her books. ] Aah, I didn't even finish my books, either.... I'm sorry, I can't add much to the conversation. Did you read anything interesting?

[Nita almost dismisses the bags under Kyoko's eyes, being used to being in such a state herself on a fairly regular basis - but, Kyoko didn't look like that last time they met, did she? It wasn't that long ago!]

I'm doing okay, or as okay as anyone can be in Havenwell, I guess!

[As to the question, while she looks at Kyoko sympathetically, ultimately she nods.]

Yeah! Some stuff I might share with the Network later, see what everyone thinks of it. It's old, and it's interesting, but it mustn't have been classified if it was just in the library like that!

Still - what have you been up to?

[That isn't reading, of course!]

Ohh, you're already to the book report stage, huh?

[ Kyoko leans in a little, impressed. Nita didn't even need any book club! What a self-starter.

Pulling back, she flashes a grin. ]

Actually, I managed to find some work! So the library conquering plan is on the backburner for now, but I won't forget about it.

I did take notes between chapters! Though some of them were really short, too.

[Intriguing, but short.

Nita's interest right now, though, is piqued by the mention of work.]

Oh, that's great! I don't mind holding off on exchanging notes.

But, what work? Where? Maybe I can come visit?

[ Combing fingers through her bangs, Kyoko giggles sheepishly. ]

Do you know, it's actually really easy to get started in show-biz here, once you figure out who to talk to. I'd just about given up, but then I started getting offers for movie roles left and right! It's kinda shocking, but I can't say no!

Ah, but it's not really the kind of job where I can invite people to come visit me. I'm not some diva who can do whatever she wants on set, you know?

[Nita looks both pleased and surprised.]

Wait, really? Wish the labs here were like that...

[But then, showbiz isn't quite the same as dealing with certain secured information.]

... They do know to let you take breaks though, right?

And, I was thinking more if they did live showings than just showing up at the filming.

[Though if the natives aren't letting Kyoko sleep much, Nita might try to show up anyway.]

Oh, I'm not in any live shows--the scheduling would probably get a little too complicated [ read: physically impossible ] if I tried breaking into that right now. Not that I have any big parts, yet. Actually, I feel like I've been sitting around a lot!

[ Just, you know, not for long enough stretches that she can go home. ]

Jeez, I wish I'd thought to check my messages sooner, so you wouldn't be waiting for so long. I totally forgot about it, and spent all of my last break memorizing my lines! I sure can be stupid!

Sitting-and-waiting happens everywhere, huh?

[Nita's back to the sympathetic look, now.]

Hey, it hasn't been that long, and if you're busy then that's okay! Just make sure to pace yourself, if you can.

... Maybe I could do a drop-off, if you haven't been able to stop at your house for food and things?

[Which is another worry: are they feeding her?]

[ The camera bobs as she quickly shakes her head. ]

I couldn't ask you to do that! Please put it out of your mind, Nita! Actually, I brought a lot with me before this shoot started, so I definitely wouldn't feel right receiving anything!

[ What she brought being all of the leftovers in her fridge, plus as much dried fruit and nuts as she could get the replicator to spit out before she had to run off again. ]

I have a whole system. [ Here's an exceedingly confident thumbs up and a firm nod. ] I've got this!

[Nita looks dubious, but she nods.]

As long as you did bring something.

Call me back when you do get a break, though, okay? Maybe we can talk books then, too.

[ Pausing long enough to ease up, Kyoko gives a sigh and a smile. ]

Really, thank you for thinking of me. Let's talk about books sometime, for sure.

[Tired as she looks, it's good to see Kyoko smile.]

Definitely.

And tell the people you're working with I said hi, okay?

[Maybe they'll even appreciate it...]

[ She smiles again, and opens her mouth to say something before some bustle offscreen gets her attention. ]

--Aah, okay, yes!--[ Swiveling her head back to the screen, she gives a quick wave. ] Um, later, then! Thank you!

[Nita nods, letting Kyoko end the feed.]
