[Kai kinda figured he'd never actually use the 'post' function of the network, but desperate times and all that. He knew there were, like, wizards and shit in Havenwell so maybe someone could drop some advice his way.

[There was a little zip zap around his fingers as he gave them a snap, turning his lights off. This seemed to be a poor idea though, because it was quickly followed by a POP and some sparks from off-camera. There was a perfectly cut shout of a Naughty, Naughty word as Kai lunged off screen and the feed cut. END OF ENTRY.

Nah, a second post went up about 10 minutes after that. This time Kai looked more visibly frustrated, and he was in a different room entirely.]

Yeah. So. Wondering if anybody here is good at being their own personal electrician. I could use some pointers.

[Reyson was here in one piece though, which was what mattered to Kai at the moment. Looking down at his hands, Kai absently held one wrist as he flexed out his fingers.

Do you do anything to practice? [He'd glanced up again now.] I mean, for your powers. I know they're a different kind of magic but... y'know.

[ he shakes his head sadly. ]

No. My powers are innate, given to us by the Goddess.

. . . It is why I do not like being complimented for it. My songs, my looks. None of it feels like it's mine.

[... Yeah, that checked out. Kai nodded, not too surprised to hear that either. The information was quietly tucked away though to keep in mind.]

Makes sense, you'd wanna be known for You.

[ he nods. ]

They are gifts and I will use them to help, but it should my actions that matter the most.

I'd hope so. You've got a pretty strong impact.

[ he chuckles. ]

Of course. I do not doubt my force of personality.

It's definitely a force alright.

[Maybe it didn't translate across such a tiny screen, but his grin went softer after a moment.]

Mm, the solo ventures haven't been super helpful so far.

[All they'd really been doing was reinforcing that maybe... he wasn't so great at being completely alone anymore. That was pretty concerning in its own right.]

Well, yeah, more or less. It started... about a week ago? Tried to get it figured out but...

[HERE CAME THE FORCE. Kai rubbed his hair, aware that this was heading towards fussing.]

None of the shocks have bothered me none. It's been, uh, more that I'm the problem to everything else around me.

It was still a foolish, unnecessary risk!!

I was trying to keep that small, I didn't want to hurt anybody.

What makes you think you would have?

I've already shocked people a little bit. Nothin' real bad, the touches were always brief but... I might've just gotten lucky with 'em.

When I'm practicing, sometimes it gets out of hand and I can't get it back under control fast enough.

No power is perfect.

That does not make it a reflection on you.

Maybe not, but hurting someone is still hurting someone even if I didn't want to.

I just wanted to see if I could get a handle on it before I got more people involved.
