A Belated Birthday - video and action options
video
[At least Keith knows how to keep a feed steady on his face. He's had a lot of practice at this. His voice is somewhat hushed, and he is in a darkened room, glancing back over his shoulder before he finally clears his throat and starts to speak.]
It was Lance's birthday on Sunday. And I totally forgot, and I think it might have hurt his feelings. So. [He takes a deep breath, glancing back behind his shoulder again.] I guess I'm going to throw him a late birthday party, so he stops sulking. Please, everyone, I could use some backup here. If you could just show up at the house this afternoon for a few minutes or something, that would be great. You don't have to know us. He'll just be happy to have people paying attention to him.
[There's some noise behind him, and he looks back again before standing up hurriedly and speaking in a hushed voice.] Okay, Keith out.
action
[Keith is pretty sure that Lance is aware that something is up, because he's been running around like a madman setting things up for what he hopes to be at least a decent little gathering. With luck, people have heard the message and will show, and that should help Lance feel a little better. Not that Keith cares, of course. He just wants his roommate to stop making snide comments.
By mid-afternoon, he's managed to set up a table with some food -- of questionable quality, but still edible -- and found a bot to play some music quietly. It's not like any sort of music he's ever heard, honestly, but it'll do the trick for now, hopefully.
Now to wait and pray that someone actually shows. Even better if they bring something with them.]

[He was willing to play with many ideas.]
That sounds similar to some theories about the creation of the universe. It's possible that it would not have to happen all at once, either. There could be triggers that cause a dimension to split off into two parts.
I have played with the idea of dimensional travel, and as I have spoken to more people here I have met a few who have already experienced it before. I'll admit, I had always viewed Niflheim as the leader in technology, but I find myself envious of people who could so readily travel worlds and dimensions.

War can do that. I can only imagine how advanced we would be if war hadn't destroyed much of civilization. Much of what I've worked with could be considered 'debris', remnants of what once was from millennia ago.
But, speaking of your theory, I have been searching for potential connections between our different worlds. One can never know what information will turn out to be relevant, but seeing that the calendar system is comparable, I do wonder what year it was where you were from.
OH NO DON'T ASK THE DREADED YEAR QUESTION, we're never told LOL
[He lets him know, then, when he's from.
It's like 2xxx AD.]I'm sorry he asks for all the details authors randomly refuse to give
What was your Earth like? It would appear they had space travel at the very least, so it would likely be an advanced world.
how dare!
[Lance does his best, then, to explain the state of things on Earth, comparing it to some other places he's been, and to here.]

[In some ways they were alike. Discovering this city had brought to light many things he had only been able to ponder about before. He listened quietly, engaged and giving Lance his full attention as he explained, taking down notes in his mind.]
I can appreciate your enthusiasm to learn about new worlds. I wish more were so eager.

[It was actually something beyond what he'd experienced, so he wanted to hear pretty much everything about it. Even if Lance wasn't a scientist, his own personal experience could shed a lot of light on the subject.]

[Shame Pidge and Hunk aren't here.
...god, he misses them already.]

[No reason to discourage Lance from sharing.]
You know someone who would be more familiar with the mechanics, though?
