[Hummy was told this... device could communicate with others, like a telephone or a computer screen. The robots had showed her how it worked briefly, but she's...kind of already forgotten a lot of it. The shock of arriving in a new world makes it hard to focus on any one thing for too long, y'know? But! She's been staring at it for a while now and thinks she figured out how to get it to work after testing a variety of different buttons.]

[...Look, she is from a time before smart phones and she has no thumbs and she is trying her best, okay? She hasn't figured out how to do audio transcription yet, much less voice or video.]

[She would! Hummy presses her paw against his hand gently and holds it there in case he'd like to give it a little squeeze or something. Her paws are very soft and she knows people tend to like touching them.]

Yeah~! We can get a stylus!!

[A beat.]

...hey, what is a stylus?

[Minato does give her paw a gentle squeeze. She is really soft. He does resume holding her paw though in case she wants to take it back.]

It looks like a pen, but no ink. You can use it to touch smaller buttons on your tablet.

[Not sure how helpful it'll be, but maybe? The robots might have one lying around that no one needs.]

Do you want to go together?

Oh, that sounds very handy, nya!

[Hummy does take it back, striking an adventurous (?) pose and pointing dramatically in the direction of the closest buildings.]

Yes! Let's go find one together!!

[...she holds this pose for a bit before remembering she still needs to gather her things. She sheepishly turns and wraps up her tablet and slings the cloth pouch onto her back before resuming the pose. Super smooth.]

[Minato doesn't think that he'll get enough of her being so cute.]

Is it easier if I just carry you? But you can walk too, if you like.

[It's not to say she's slow or anything like that because he's pretty sure cats are agile and fast. But it's just so she's comfortable, especially since she has to carry that thing around too.]

Oh, I don’t mind walking~ But carrying me might be faster in this case, nya! Or at least carrying my bag? [Hummy stops posing and nods a couple times. She’s got a pretty good deal of experience with carrying stuff on her back but it does start to slow her down a little when it gets on the bigger side.]

I can carry you and your bag? Maybe Ainea would like that?

[They are by Ainea's temple too. But he thinks to clarify though because he hopes that she doesn't get the wrong idea. He does held his hand out again.]

But it's to help you, not to to please them, I promise.

[Hummy smiles gratefully.] Hehe, okay! Thank you, nya~ [She undoes the pouch and hands it to him before leaping onto his shoulder.]

These gods...it's sort of strange, isn't it? [She still wasn't totally sure how she felt about them and the whole situation.]

[Minato keeps the package safe with him and makes sure that she's safe too before he stands back up on his feet. Now they're off to get a stylus!]

It is. I don't know how they choose who they bring in. Or why they didn't warn the people who lived here first about what would happen. Unless it was in their plan for us specifically to be here.

[Onward! Surely there's a robot around here willing to help.]

Right, right? It's mysterious, nya. Maybe we were chosen because we had some special trait in common? Like something in our hearts resonated with this place. [That's basically how the Precure were chosen, after all.]

[Off to find a robot! Or at least a shop with electronic parts.
Minato nods a little at that. There has to be some kind of pattern. He hasn't met enough people though to find out what that pattern may be yet.]

It's nice to think all of our worlds are somehow connected. Music? It's important in your world.

[He tries to imagine though a world without music. But if that world never had it, then it wouldn't know what it was missing.]

Ohh, maybe so! It’d be wonderful if this world could be as filled with music as back home, nya~ [Little did Hummy know she would soon meet someone who had basically never experienced music, thus blowing a hole in that theory....unless it was their destiny to help bring music to everyone?] I wonder what sort of music the robots like to listen to...?

They seem alive like anyone else, right? Maybe they like different kinds.

[Minato has to interact with the robots some more. But he's got a soft spot for robots realizing that they can feel and interact and be more "human," though there isn't anything innately wrong with being a robot. If they wanted to feel or express themselves, then they should be able to.]

In your world, are you the only cat that can sing? Or you have friends that can do the same?

That’s true~ It’s probably very diverse. I wonder what sort of music flourished in this culture, nya. Like, how it may be different from ours... things like that! I want to ask them lots of questions!

[Her tail bobs to and fro.] No, there are lots of us that sing! Many of us compete every year to be the Song Fairy. My best friend, Siren, usually wins - she’s got a beautiful voice and taught me basically everything I know. It was thanks to her that I won this year!

[Minato doesn't want to automatically think electronic music just because they're robots. But she does bring up a good point. What kind of music did they have here at all before?

He does smile though since there are more of her friends that like music. It's not surprising, but it is reassuring.]

Congratulations to both of you. It must be an honor. But can I ask what it means when you do win?

Ehhehe, thank you, nya~ Yes, it’s a very big honor! Maybe the biggest! [Hummy puffs up proudly.] The Song Fairy gets to sing the Melody of Happiness at the annual concert, which keeps the Legendary Score safe and ensures happiness and prosperity in Major Land! [Then, as an afterthought:] ...Ah, Major Land is where I’m from, by the way!

[It really was a musical world. He smiles at the thought. Minato walks by a storefront as they're getting closer to the entertainment district and sees Hummy's smile in the reflection in the window too. So cute. He's still careful to make sure she doesn't fall from his shoulder.]

What does the Legendary Score sound like? Does someone play it or sing from it too?

[It sounded really magical, to say the least. Like something out of a beautiful fairy tail.]

[She notices the two of them in the reflection as well and gives an extra big smile to their mirror-selves.]

Yes, it’s a vocal piece with orchestral backing. The notes try to escape every year, but singing a piece with them keeps them in place. [It'd be easiest just to give him an example, right?] Mmm, I could try to sing you a bit of the Melody of Happiness, if you’d like! It’s a beautiful song, nya~

[Another song? Minato smiles a little more. She really is so kind to him.]

I'd like that, thank you. It'd be an honor to hear you sing again.

[He's looking forward to it! With a name like the Melody of Happiness and sung by her, he knows it's going to be beautiful.]

[Hummy nods, takes a deep breath and begins to sing for Minato as they travel. This special, sacred song that protects the kingdom... it makes her happy to share it with someone new.

She only gets through the complete melody once before she notices that she’s drawn the attention of several robots en route. They watch the two of them closely, some simply staring or smiling and others murmuring among themselves. She scratches the back of her head, a little embarrassed to have made a scene.] Oops, nyehehe. I was a little loud, I guess.

[This is so much better than the music on his MP3 player. Minato doesn't stop walking as he's listening, but he does when she's finished and also spots the robots who've ended up eavesdropping and becoming part of her audience.]

This might be the first time they've heard anything this beautiful.

[And she did get to share that song with even more people! Or robots. They still count! But maybe it was good timing: They've made it to an electronics shop storefront.]

Thank you, Hummy. I don't know why those notes would want to escape something that makes people happy.

Mm, I don’t think they know better. They’re just lively and curious, you know?

But I'm very glad you enjoyed it, nya! I hope that they did too. I hope it touches their hearts and fills them with happiness! [Well. Their metaphorical hearts, at least. She gives the robots a big smile before glancing up at the storefront.] Ah, we're here?

I hope it's not hard to coax them back.

[Because notes going away like that sounds a little inconvenient. But if everyone gets to hear her sing, then that's the best price to pay.

He really did enjoy that song and smiled again. He nods and lets them into the shop. He'd been in there before to get a charger and didn't have to pay for it. He's hoping that they could get her a stylus also free of charge. He asks the robot there for a stylus or two for the cat on his shoulder and is told to wait.]

After this, we can go explore the rest of the town?

[Honestly yeah it's both inconvenient and weird and canon never really explains why they try to outie every year in the first place?? But Hummy doesn't seem to worry about it much so it's probably fine. She watches the robot come and go, glancing around the shop. Lots of gadgets and gizmos and mysterious parts for upgrading and repairing their bodies. It's all very foreign to her.

She gives a cheerful little fist pump in response to Minato's suggestion.]

Yeah! Let's explore!

[It's true, in a shop full of electronics and gadgets, there has to be a stylus around. The robots probably don't need to use them often or if they did, things like a stylus, a charger, or adapter had to be a dime a dozen.

And tada! There's a robot coming back with two styluses (styli?) that looked kind of clear like their communication devices. Neat. Those can go safely into Hummy's pink kerchief bag. He inclines his head as thanks to the robot before heading back outside.]

Mission accomplished. Onward?
