01 - Power Up! [Video]

[Peach is no stranger to ending up in places against her will. However, she's usually aware of how she ends up in such situations. She has no clue how she ended up in Havenwell, and the bot who welcomed her didn't really explain a lot. She got some initial information here and there, about how there are gods and such in this new world, but it's all pretty basic and she's still very much lost.

So she decides to put her communicator to good use. Clearly other people have been dragged here and have been here for longer, so they can provide her with some pointers.

She props up the communicator so she can step up in front of it, and the feed shows her from the waist up, wearing her royal gown still, but with no gloves or crown. The crown is stored safely in her room and she removed the clothes due to it being warm.]

Good day to you all, I've recently arrived in Havenwell. I'm Princess Peach. [She gives the camera a curtsy.] It's a pleasure to meet all of you.

As I'm still quite new to this place, I would appreciate any help and guidance anyone could give me about this place. Ah, and if anyone knows where I can get some new clothes, that would be wonderful! [She chuckles lightly, before ending the feed with a smile and a wave.]

Well, you're asking the right people. The locals' idea of helping people get used to the place is an unhelpful scavenger hunt.

[ No, Sasuke will not let that go. He still hasn't finished his because there doesn't seem to be a point to. ]

There's a shopping district which can help with your clothing question.

[ Peach gets a close-up view of wide amber eyes--mostly just one eye, actually--and the sound of a deep breath being taken in.

That gorgeous swoosh of blond hair. That lovely pink gown and sweet demeanor. That curtsy. She's never actually seen an adult curtsy for real, in earnest before...! ]

[ There's some jostling as the camera is held back to reveal a girl in raptures, just pure ecstasy. ]

Your highness! I'll happily give you my clothes, as humble and unbefitting of you as they are!!

Nice t'meetcha, yer highness! Ain't sure how much you were told, but with the clothes and such, they got some nice shops here and there that can help you out.

Scavenger hunt? I don't think that will help me out right now. [The idea sounds a bit fun though. Maybe later...]

OK, shopping district! [A pause.] Hmm... do you have any idea where that is and how do I get there? Does this communicator have a map? [She eyes the device curiously.]

[Peach tilts her head at first when she sees the eye on the other side staring at her, and then when the camera zooms out she's about to ask if there's anything wrong with the girl on the other side. She seems awfully shocked or surprised.

But Peach can't get a single word out before the girl starts talking and she can't help but wide her eyes at those words.]

Oh, dear me, no, no! I would never allow anyone to give up their clothes to give them to me! [She gives the girl a smile.] I would feel much better if you kept your clothes and just helped me find a place to buy my own.

And I'm sure whatever you like to wear wouldn't displease me.

[Oh, now isn't this guy adorable? He looks like a puppy!]

I was told a couple things from the robots, but they didn't really give me a lot of details on this place. I guess I'll have to learn along the way. [A chuckle.]

I guess I just gotta go on an expedition to find those shops, hm?

We can go together too, if that'll help.

[Although he does understand if going with someone, especially a guy, might be awkward for her. It was good to see her again, at least, and she looked like she was settling in well enough.]

I can show you around, if you like! I'm used to escortin' royalty here and there, back home.

[So this place even abducts royalty? Dot turns on the video feed and fusses with the communicator, turning it this way and that before finally feeling confident she had it turned the right direction. She props it up and sits back.]

Seems I'm not the only one who turned up a little overdressed for this place. [Her walking suit isn't quite as fanciful as Peach's gown but it's definitely similarly stuffy, especially coming off Havenwell's recent heat wave.]

It's not that hard to find. There's a main center but smaller pockets of stores are here and there.

[ Does the communicator have a map? Probably, but Sasuke's used to finding his own way around given his ninja profession. ]

[While he wasn't one to chat about random things a lot he did take time to check the network now and then. Her request didn't seem highly important to him, and her status made no difference since they were from other worlds, but he might as well share some basic information on how to survive.]

You will require native currency in order to purchase items. It can be earned simply enough by engaging in physical contact with another otherworlder. You can also perform jobs that others may offer at times.

We have some limited shops at this time but they should meet your basic needs.

[ So modest and kind! So gracious, so noble! This is it, finally--the ideal princess from all her beloved childhood storybooks and anime! So someone like this truly does exist...! ]

It would be the honor of my life to serve you! [ She slaps her chest. ] Only tell me what kind of clothes you wish for, and I'll hunt them down!

[Ah, the one face she's familiar with! It's good to see Minato again, specially now that she isn't in a bind.]

That would certainly help. I'm still getting used to this place so having a guide would be good so I don't get lost. [She doesn't really mind having a guy accompany her. Considering Toadsworth was always insisting on following her everywhere, it's actually a relief to have someone closer to her age when going out.]

Oh, really? You had royalty back home too? I would love to hear more about that. [She gives him a smile.] Oh, and also more about you, mister... [She looks up the contact info.] Goofy?

And I would love to have a guide as adorable as you! [She can't help it, he's too cute!]

[Peach can't help but chuckle at that comment, as she fans herself a bit.] If I was at least whisked away while I was playing tennis I would be dressed a little more appropriately for the weather. [What she wouldn't give for her short dress right now...]

But at least no one can say we don't know how to dress fancy!

I see, so I just need to find a large shopping district. Must be easy enough. [She is pretty used to walk around Toad Town and the other cities nearby, so wandering around Heavenwell shouldn't be much harder.]

It's probably better if I don't follow a map anyway so I get to see more of the city as I try to find the shops.

[There's a small pause before she speaks up again.] Is there anything I should keep an eye out for when exploring the city? Anything dangerous I should know about?

[Honestly, she only presented herself as a princess out of habit. She actually doesn't want to be treated any different from anyone else.]

Ah, yes. I am aware of how currency works here. The robots were kind enough to explain it to me. [They were actually pretty helpful in giving her a good explanation of the basics.] Still a bit unusual that physical contact is what generates money in this place. [But Peach has seen stranger, so, she can't judge.]

And as long as I can get something less stuffy than this dress, that's good enough for me. [And as long as it's pink. It gotta be pink.]

[Peach doesn't quite know how to react to all this. On one hand she's used to the Toads back home willing serve her. On the other hand, this young lady just seems a little too invested in it.]

Oh no, you don't need to hunt for anything for me! It would be much nicer if we went out together to look for clothes. It would be much more fun and we could know each other better.

Aw, shucks.

[ He's been called lots of things, here and at home, but "cute" is a new one. He blushes a little. ]

Where are you now? I can head on over, and we can talk and walk.

[Fancy? Her? Dot chuckles as well.] I'm flattered you think me fancy, though lumping us together like that may well be doing your lovely gown a disservice.

[She leans forward a bit, interest piqued.] Tennis, though, now that's something! I've only tried it once or twice, myself. But, I must ask, what do you wear while playing sports in your kingdom? Where I'm from, it's much the same affair as everyday wear. I can't imagine it being any cooler. [Playing sports as a woman in the 19th century was definitely A Lot. Dot, however, assumes this discrepancy is simply a cultural difference and not, y'know, a temporal one.]

Fascinating, isn't it? [His voice grew in energy quite quickly.] I have been told that the energy generated is capable of being sensed by abilities I do not possess. However, I would like to find a way to measure it myself. Surely it must only work through the divine. If we can detect it ourselves, we could potentially utilize the energy for our own devices!

[But from there he calmed, bringing himself down from his daydreams.]

I have been here approximately 14 months and I have no dresses. It should be no trouble for you to find alternatives to a dress.

No. He was dead serious.

He also wore armor or suits pretty much exclusively, neither in pink, so what fashion he could find probably wouldn't help her much. Although...]

An ally of mine named 'Will' spends a great deal more than I on his clothing. He might have sound suggestions.

[ He waves a hand dismissively. Most of the dangers from the expanding walls have been dealt with. ]

As long as you don't go towards the walls, you'll be fine. The locals won't let you get that close to them anyways.

... Although, I'd be wary if they offer you something. Their help can be less than helpful at times.

[ Sorry Peach... that is a completely natural and rational response, and you're just gonna have to keep dealing with it for a while if you let this girl associate with you. ]

Shopping together... would be bliss...!

[ Just make all her dreams come true at once, why don't you. ]

Sure. You look like you're doing better, too, so we can go whenever you're ready.

[Not all freezing like before! She seems to be her normal self and not so blue, like literally and figuratively so.]
