In my world, Lilin tried to complete "Instrumentality Project". In Instrumentality, the flaws in every living being would be complemented by the strengths in others, thus erasing the insecurities in people's hearts. No one would ever perish, no one would ever leave, and everyone would understand everyone, deeply. 

No insecurities in people's hearts, no hatred and no confusion. Your mind would be at peace. True Paradise.

In Instrumentality Project, you’d have to lose one thing and one thing only, which is what brings you so much pain: individuality. All souls would be gathered and united as one. This would create an existence where nobody exists singularly, but merely as part of the whole.

Would you accept it? Would you prefer eternal happiness or your individuality?

Was... being united as one soul the only way? Or the only way that humans could perceive?

The latter. [ if he has to be honest: ] It would not be something I would choose. Humans do not need to lead such existence to be happy.

[ She listens with a bit of awe. ] What makes you seem so... certain of that?

Lilin are beings capable of growth and development. This means when faced with adversity, they are able to evolve in order to overcome it.

You do not need Instrumentality. You have the ability to go on and grow in order to achieve the happiness you seek.

[ Once more a pause precedes her response, thoughtful. ] 

You've seen it, haven't you? That ability to overcome adversity.

Yes. My life was short, but it allowed me to see much from you.

Humans are truly amazing.

[iustaegis]

Oh... Well, I'm glad you think that. [ There's a smile in her voice. ]

I think that-- what everyone has accomplished so far... is truly incredible. The future is bright.
