Video: CW: Language

[A disheveled middle aged man's face appears on the screen looking incredibly over it. Whatever 'it' is, he's been done with it since Friday and there's no end in sight. There's a large smear of chocolate running from just about his ear on his left side down his neck and along one side of a red hoodie he's wearing.]

Dammit! Damn this place and those creepy bears from god-knows-what! Where the hell am I? Voidtreckers, if you can hear me, my communicator isn't connecting me to the train!

Of all the f-

[Tony's cut off as he spots another bear gang down the street and moves quickly to an alley out of sight.]

What is this place?

[It was a good sign that Ardyn didn't have any reaction to Tony's question. He asked bluntly on purpose to see if there'd be an awkward pause or anything that seemed like it was being avoided. In this case, Ardyn appeared to believe what he said was true.]

Has anyone made it outside the walls? Any theories about how we can get return to where we were?

[Ardyn did, in fact, give off the impression of someone too honest to consider lying about much of anything.]

There have been the occasional planned expeditions in the past, though I wasn't on them myself. As for theories, at present I don't know of any.

I see. So as far as you know, the majority of people have, what, just been content with their lives here and been in no hurry to leave? What have you been doing since you arrived?

Generally? Yes. The general consensus as I know it is a strange thing--the assertion that time does not pass for one's world while they are present here.

I came here from a very difficult situation, and I've welcomed the opportunity to relearn how to simply live normally, in fact.

[Tony can understand that. What he wouldn't give to have a simple life with Pepper and Morgan?]

Have you found out how? I could use that knowledge too.

It's a long process, I'm afraid. [A quiet laugh, Ardyn almost looking embarrassed.] It's been...hm. A bit over a year, though I'm not sure exactly how long, and I'm afraid I'm still working it out.

[Tony smiled understandingly at him and patted his shoulder.]
