[A disheveled middle aged man's face appears on the screen looking incredibly over it. Whatever 'it' is, he's been done with it since Friday and there's no end in sight. There's a large smear of chocolate running from just about his ear on his left side down his neck and along one side of a red hoodie he's wearing.]

Dammit! Damn this place and those creepy bears from god-knows-what! Where the hell am I? Voidtreckers, if you can hear me, my communicator isn't connecting me to the train!

Of all the f-

[Tony's cut off as he spots another bear gang down the street and moves quickly to an alley out of sight.]

What is this place?

[Hey, he's held a shield over a whole city while multiple magitek engines were attacking and did he mention he was unconscious at the time? As in, just had been beaten so? He's not bragging. It's just a fact.]

I would certainly not mind another testing session, but why don't we plan that for sometime when you haven't just been dropped on a new world, covered in chocolate, and are being chased by hug-crazy bears?

[He returns the handshake firmly then nods in the direction of the house.]

It is a pleasure, Tony, and of course, I'll have a drink or two. What kind of host would I be if I didn't make sure the wine was suitable for good company?

[Never mind people usually taste the wine for a king and not the other way around.]

These bottles are actually from my home world, if not my home country.

[Thank you, Ardyn.]

[Yeah well Tony's.. um.. he's.. shut up.

And stop being so logical. He's pleased to talk about booze instead at least.]

Really? Eos- no-.. Insomnia, right? That's very generous.

[And with that, he'll follow the king anywhere!]

[Regis is happy to lead the way back to the house, though he does pause from time to time to make sure he doesn't stray too far from Tony's side. After all, the whole point of coming out to meet him was to make sure he can summon a shield at a moment's notice to fend off more chocolate rain or...

...well, if he can hold off magitek engines with it, he's certain he can hold off some annoyingly persistent bears too. It probably would even be kind of amusing to see them bounce off a shield a time or two.]

Eos is the world, yes. Insomnia is the capital of Lucis where most of those who you'll run into here are from. The wine, though, was brewed in Niflheim. It is one of the few good things I'll ever say came from there.

[The other is Prompto, through no choice of his own.]

[Tony followed along, mostly keeping up but warily looking around too. He understood the other man would protect him from the silly bears, but he wasn't completely convinced that was the only threat. There was still a chance he was here as a member of the Voidtreckers and he was supposed to save this place somehow. Although he was getting less convinced of that the longer he was here.]

I'm surprised you would accept wine from there. It's the nation your country is fighting, is it not?

[Regis nods, confirming the observation.]

It is, but the person who gifted it to me was not there of his own free will.

[At least, not at first.]

Let's just say if my family's founder had been less focused on keeping secrets, many things might have been different on Eos. I can't fix that, but as long as I am here I'm going to do my best to soothe the pains of the one he hurt so much.

Ah, well that certainly makes a difference.

[He reached out and briefly put a hand on Regis' shoulder.]

That's a noble endeavor. Healing past hurts your family have caused is never easy. I've spent the last.. fifteen years or so of my life trying to do that.

[Regis nods, and then turns to give Tony a small, grateful smile.]

Sometimes the task seems never-ending, doesn't it? I think the one thing that really bothers me is when I leave here and go home, I will go back to never knowing there were hurts that needed to be mended. The very idea angers me to no end.

All this time, I thought returning home for others at the point of vanishing would be a comfort to them. A few who didn't, but I hadn't thought about whether they would keep their memories of this place- or the train's in my case- or not.

As far as you know, people don't take anything back with them?

As far as we know, no they don't. Several people have fallen into deep sleeps--including myself--and while we were asleep, we were back home living our lives as if nothing had happened. it was only once we woke up back here, that we remembered this place.

[It makes for very confusing and sometimes painful awakenings. He still remembers too well how Noctis woke up and panicked at Ardyn's presence because he only remembered the man the redhead would become at first.]

From what I have been told by someone with some experience in the matter, when we sleep, it seems as if our souls are in two places at once. I don't know if that has something to do with not remembering or not.

In addition, as far as I am aware, no one who has completely left this place and then returned has remembered their previous time here.

We had a similar experiences where I was too. As far as I was aware, it had never happened to me. Although, I suppose if I'm here it's possible I'm connected there still too.

[How the hell would he know?]

Is there anything in particular I should know or be wary of here? These gods.. I'm unsure what to think of our task to be porn stars/ batteries for gods.

How many ways can one soul be split?

[It's an honest question, but not one Regis expects an answer to, so instead of waiting for one, he moves onto Tony's next question.]

Strange events tend to happen here on the regular, but vary rarely do they place us in any real danger. In many ways, it's just a 'gimmick' to get people to touch more often. Any positive touch will count, so unless you feel the 'porn star' part of your resume needs buffing up, you can just hold someone's hand, hug, or cuddle under a warm blanket. Indeed, if you were decided you wanted no part of things and were careful, you could probably avoid most effects and produce no energy for the gods at all. I have heard of no penalties for people who have chosen such a route.

[He simply shook his head, just as Regis was expecting.

The part about padding his resume though gets a laugh out of him.]

Well.. I've never heard any complaints, but it would certainly be the more fun way of passing the time. Wouldn't you agree, Reggie?

[Regis rolls his eyes toward Tony, a smirk pulling at the corner of his mouth.]

I would tell you to ask the members of my harem, but as none of them are here, I guess you will just have to be left wondering.

[Tony looked him square in the eye.]

I love you.

[He manages to hold that for a decent length of time before laughing.]

Where do I sign up to get a harem?

[It doesn't take Regis long to join Tony laughing. Once he stops, he shakes his head.]

I wish I had an answer to that for you, but I rather fell into the one I was in. It was certainly not planned. Perhaps if you ask the priests at the temples they can help? It does seem like a thing they would approve of.
