[Taking her tablet, he shows her how.]

Just hold the tablet at an angle...then press the button like this, and just like that, the picture is stored on your tablet.

[Then returns it back to her.]

[ She fumbles the first time, but the second ]

Oh! [ It's a little blurry but she shows it to him with a beaming smile ]

Rin took a picture!

[With a nod.]

That's great! That you did. Let's go inside and take more pictures of more flowers.

[So Mu is going to walk down the path where flowers are everywhere on the lane. There is information on the type of flowers with their names written and information of species and type.

Eventually, Mu becomes curious about the child and wanted to know more about her.]

Rin, how old are you? Did you come with your parents when you got here?

[ She agrees, bouncing along in his wake and darting off to take pictures and bring them back to show him ]

Hm? Rin is eleven summers. But Rin doesn't have parents - the bandits killed them. Lord Sesshoumaru looks after Rin, but these days he leaves Rin in Lady Kaede's village.

[With a nod. Empathically with understanding. No parents then.]

Ah. Eleven summers. Back home, there was a child I know and had cared for. He was eight years old and close to your age. His name is Kiki and he's my apprentice. It seems we are here now and far away from home, aren't we?

[Down the lane, he shows her the colorful flowers and teach her their names.]

Those are roses, tulips, carnations.

[And so on and so forth, just to name a few, and Mu takes pictures of them.]

[ She is glad that Mu understands! Lots of people seem upset when she says she has no parents. It's not so bad. Sesshoumaru is almost a father. ]

We are! Mister Mu is like Lord Sesshoumaru is to Rin then! He looks after Rin, like you look after Kiki. Although Rin is... more his ward? [ Or daughter, possibly. It's kinda hard to tell ]

Roses, Tulips, Ca... carnations! They're so many different colors!

[Mu is an orphan since he was a child and doesn't remember his parents. Much like most of his warrior friends back home in Greece, at the Sanctuary, they are all orphans too.]

I see. What Lord Sesshoumaru is like? [He's simply curious.]

I don't see why not. [With amusement.] We can be that while you're in this world. When you're in trouble, I come help you, and when I'm in trouble you come help me. That's what friends do.

[Rin is a child like some of the others and Mu keeps track of them. At least Rin knows she has a friend she can count on in this world too.]

That's right. Now there are trees. That one is oak and the other is a maple. This place sure keeps these plants in categories.

[Just taking pictures with his tablet at a leisurely pace.]

Lord Sesshoumaru is a dog youkai! He's really tall and has white hair and big fluffy tail. He's really really strong, and he has two demon swords, and sometimes he turns into a great big dog to fight!

[ She chatters, happy to expound at length about her adored person ]

Really? [ She looks up at him and smiles, skipping a bit closer to hug him ]

Thank you! People here are all really nice to Rin.

[ And skipping away to investigate the trees ] Rin hasn't seen an oak tree before.

Yes, of course. Back home in my homeworld, there's a lot of orphans at the Sanctuary and we look out for each other like a family. It's a temple watched over by Athena, the war goddess. So I'm glad to be of help.

[Mu simply listens.]

He's a swordsman? He sound like a very strong and formidable warrior. What's a youkai?

[That was a surprise hug! But Mu didn't mind it. Knowing a hug is connected to the gods of this world.]

Yes, it's a really tall tree. I'm surprised the robots grow that here.

Lots of you? Was there a war there too?

[ She asks curiously ]

He is! Lord Sesshoumaru is the bestest! And a youkai is... is like... a ... a spirit. Or a demon. But not like a ghost!

[ She points at the tree ] When he turns into his true form he's huuuuuuuuuuge. Bigger than the tree!

[With emotion.]

There was a war back home. I fought in it and it ended.

[Mu tries to imagine it as he observes the tree.]

A demon...

[Since he sounds so real to her, he doesn't question it.]

He must be very strong. I would like to meet him. He's not here with you in this world, is he?

That's very sad.

[ She comes back to hug him in sympathy ]

He's not. [ She shakes her head sadly ] But Lord Sesshoumaru left Rin with Lady Kaede even before Rin came here. He wants Rin to learn to be a proper human, he said.

[At this point, Mu didn't mind the hug and he is receptive about it, that he briefly hugs back.]

It is, but it's for the price of peace.

[Mu reads the plaque that explains the species of the tree.]

To be a proper human, you say? Did you learn anything new about it?

[He reaches out for Rin's hand to hold it.]

I think the flowers are further down the lane if you want to take pictures of them.

Rin is glad you have peace then!

[ She says seriously ]

Hm. Rin is learning about herbs! Lady Kaede is getting old, after all, and Lady Kagome is still only training. It's good to have someone else around to help.

[ She takes his hand and swings it happily ]

Un! Rin would like that.

[With a nod.]

The peace is hard won. I hope no one has to fight again. I sure do hope there is real world peace back home. [For now, he has no real way of knowing since he is being here.]

Really, are you learning those? Your knowledge can be valuable if you remember her teachings. I'm learning about herbs too. Whenever you have time or later on, if you remember, we have to share notes.

For now, I can make herbs and boil them to make tea, and make a few medicine out of them, but they're only home remedies.

[Taking the lead, he leads her to the exhibit where the flowers are. They resemble flowers from Earth, almost recognizable and yet they are strange as some of them are not the right color or even the right scent. Still, they are listed by species and type.]

Rin hopes so too, Mr Mu!

[ She nods excitedly ]

Rin can do that! We can practice together! [ She ooooohs at the flowers ]

These are odd - not quite right.

[Still holding her hand while studying the flowers. The flowers seem close to the plants of Earth, but varies in color and scent]

Well, it seems they're not the right colors.

[For example the roses smell faintly of potpourri and honey.]

This reminds me of the replicators that can't make the food right either.

[Mu takes a picture with his tablet.]

Let's take a look for flowers to take pictures of.

They smell wrong too.

[ Rin sniffs at one and makes a face ]

Flowers aren't supposed to smell like tea!

I don't think it's a bad smell. It smells nice if it smells like tea. Since this is a different world, the flowers growing up here may have grown in a different way.

[Mu takes more pictures with his tablet.]

Let's have a rest and sit by the bench over there.

[Goes to sit at one of the benches.]

[ She nods thoughtfully and leans against his side when they sit down ]

Rin supposes that makes sense. Did they make these flowers then?

[They rest for a while on the bench. With a thoughtful look.]

Do you mean the robots? I'm not sure. But you remind me that I should ask them for more information on the matter. For now, I just think they grow differently because we're in a different world.

[After a while, turning to her.]

Rin, are you tired? I could take you and walk you home.

Rin's not sure... they might not like being asked....

[ She leans against him and hums softly, blinking up at him curiously ]

A bit. Mr Mu wouldn't mind?

They're friendly, but I don't find them too friendly at times if I asked too many questions.

[with a nod.]

I don't mind. Would you like to go now?

[ She considers and then nods ]
