That is good. You should study hard so that you can use your mind to accomplish great things in the future. You could be the one to find a cure for a disease or invent a new method of dimensional travel.

Think of it like this. We are currently residing on one world. This world and it's universe make up a dimension. When we speak of a 'dimension', we mean another universe 'next' to our own. An 'alternative universe', in a sense. In this very same spot may be the very same world with minor differences.

It is possible that you and I both arrived from different dimensions.

Youkai is... like a spirit, or a demon. They can look like people, but those are the powerful ones. Most of them look like... like whatever they came from.

I believe I understand what you mean. Our daemons may be quite similar.

No - Rin thinks some of them are just... born? Rin knows nekomata happen when the cat has lived a really really long time. And... sometimes you can curse objects and if they get enough demonic energy they can come alive?

Its a type of cat youkai! They have extra tails, that's how you can tell how old they are. One tail every one hundred years. Lady Sango has a nekomata companion - Kirara can turn into a biiiiiiig cat with really big teeth! And she can fly!

That's quite a long lifespan. They seem quite a bit different than a normal cat.

Nope. Rin's found youkai-like people, but they all say they aren't youkai.

Coz they got magic! And some of them, they don't look human, either.

Most humans don't though. The Miko and the Priests and Monks... they have spiritual power. It's not quite the same though.

How does spiritual power differ from magic? What does it do?

Spiritual power... it depends on... on the miko or the priest, you know? You can be born with power, but like. You can pray and get stronger! But youkai are youkai. If they're a strong youkai they're a strong youkai, if they're a weak youkai, the only way to get stronger is to eat something that's got a lot of power. And miko's... they purify youkai. The powers different.
