Gotta say, getting woken up by some fucking robots is new and I've been to Hell.

Name's Nekane Adomaitis. I got the lowdown about this place and saving the world and whatever, but I want to know what you guys think. They talking shit or?

[They honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was just bullshit in the end. But still, information is needed.]

I take it you’ve seen your world’s afterlife personally, then? [Oh my god Dot you can’t just ask someone why they’re white if they’ve died??]

I have my theories, but I don’t know that we have much in the way of proof.

Interesting… Perhaps we’ll have to compare notes sometime, then. See how it stacks up to mine. [Even though Nekane seems dismissive of it, she’s very curious. Seeing the afterworld and living to tell of it isn’t something a lot of people in other worlds can boast about, she has come to realize.]

A detective, though! How wonderful! I’m a reporter by trade but I’ve done my fair share of detective work in the process of uncovering stories. This could be the start of a mutually beneficial alliance!

As far as my theories go, well… there is an expression where I am from: “In matters of the Bazaar, look to love, always.”

The Bazaar is the heart of the city and the home of the Masters - those in control of it. It is love that drove those in power to make deals with the Masters and sink their cities underground and it is love that the Masters covet more than anything, though they will speak not of why. I’ve dealt with their obsession with it first-hand on several occasions and heard many stories besides.

As odd as it seems, I suspect that that affection, that longing, is a source of very real energy and power to them. I would not be surprised if it functioned similarly here.
