[ Text - Come get some free melons ]
Hello, this is Shinji.
I've been growing watermelons, and I've ended up with more than my house could possibly go through. If anyone would like to come and pick one or two of them up, please let me know either here or by contacting me privately. Whatever time works best for anyone, my schedule is flexible, so I can be around to let people through whenever is convenient.
Alternatively, if you don't want to come pick them up yourself, there's a very good delivery service available that can take some out to recipients.
That is all, thank you.

A weird question, but, humor me. These watermelons are completely normal, right? No chance of enchantment or weird things inside or effects?

I grew them with seeds from melons I planted last year, which were perfectly normal. The ones I've harvested so far this year have been likewise unmagical, unenchanted, and filled only with fruit and seeds. Absolutely safe.

Great idea planting the seeds, by the way.

Ah, I just did what most people would do if they found themselves with that option. Nothing special.

[He's sure that people here don't just barge in, but just to be sure.]
From what I heard, a lot of things weren't growing until too recently.

That's right. A little over a year ago, there was a bunch of rainfall that caused all sorts of things to just start growing like wild. There have always been plants in the botanical gardens, but the city itself was kind of... sterile until then.

So, you managed to plant some seeds at just the right time then. I wonder if we can't get some sort of communal vegetable garden going somewhere...

If you're in the Marshes, there should be some communal garden space in each block. That's where I started growing things last year. I drop in and check up on the one sometimes, but I don't know how many people are actually using the rest these days. It's an option, at least, and I could donate a few tomatoes to the cause if you're really interested in something like that.

I did have someone showing me the basics when I started, but it's been a long time since he was here. There's an offworlder owned store called Petals & Pages that has a book with a lot of useful information on how to get started with gardening and such, if something like that could help. I wouldn't mind lending a hand any time I'm not busy otherwise, too.

I could definitely use the refresher myself though. I'll give the place a look. And, I would appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you.

Would having your own garden to tend to be a good memory for you, then?
You're welcome. I'm far from an expert, but I'll help where I can.

I think so. Especially if I get her favorites in there.
Ah. Nearly forgot. I'm Héctor. It's nice to meet you, Shinji.

It's nice to meet you as well, Héctor.
