What do you live for?

[ it's a very simple question. But Kaworu has been asking himself that ever since he was brought back to this world. His own role has been fulfilled and the thing he wanted to happen did, therefor... there is nothing else to him.

And yet he is still here. To live or to die doesn't matter to him, but he has a reason for the later, not for the first. So kaworu does what he does best: he asks other people.

It's also because he is endlessly curious about everyone.

I think they can be. I feel like the concepts often intersect but do not always fully overlap. That’s how it is for me, at least.

One is free to feel whatever they wish regarding my questions. It's also their choice if they wish to answer or not. [ he honestly does not understand why they are so angry, but they have always been angry with every single interaction, so Kaworu assumes that's how Cliff is. Some people are sad. Some people are angry. ]

If you’ll allow me to give you a bit of advice, as someone who has spent a great deal talking to and asking questions of others: If you really want to learn about other people, you’re going to have to work on that mentality. It isn’t enough to simply ask questions and receive (or not receive) answers - you need to understand the feelings behind those responses. Understand them, learn from them, and grow as a person.

To answer your question, though: The pursuit of truth is what drives me. Much like you, I find the world a very curious place.

I live for myself - to take in and explore that endlessly fascinating world - but I also live for those who are no longer able to.

Yes. My brother was murdered several years ago. I live because I know he’d want me to keep going forward. It is a way to honor his memory. And in addition to living to unravel the mysteries of life, I live to seek the truth behind his death.

Lilin are those capable of change, growth, development, building civilization and creation. Humans are part of them, but not only Humans.

The need for knowledge and understanding what happened.

Is that right...? So the devils, the clay men, and even the rattus-faber could qualify as Lilin, then. That's very interesting. Are there other types of Lilin in your world, too? Devils and the like? [It seemed an obvious question on some levels. If there are angels, of course there would be devils. But if the terms were that broad, maybe it wasn't so clear cut.]

I have never met any of those beings, thus I do not know. Devils exist in stories, but they are not real in the world I come from.

But animals are, in themselves, part of Lilin. So are plants.
