Hola, Haven. I'm Héctor. Adding myself to the list of those asking strangers some even stranger questions, but after talking with some people, I'm wondering how many here are familiar with their world's afterlives. Who's been there and can you tell me what it was like for you?

With no connection to the other thing, I've also heard that the gods here sometimes give people powers. Whoever's willing to share that, what did you end up getting? Do you have any guesses why?

Yes? Ghosts are souls, after all. Some are even visible to those without abilities such as mine. As to what a soul is - it is the core of a person. That which makes up the essence of who they are, and resides within the aether surrounding a person.

What are ghosts, if not something that had been formerly alive?

[He's aware that this is bordering on quibbling, though, so rather than dwell on it overlong he moves on to the rest of the question.]

To my sight, each soul has a color. One that is unique to it alone. But yes, a soul is comprised of aether, which is itself a form of energy.

There have been cases where the difference between souls is subtle at best. But even a subtle difference is still a difference

It is how I have always seen the world. Though it does render it in a good deal more color than one not possessed of my abilities would see, or so I should imagine.
