nomoresharks: (The finer points of being an Ancient)

Let's see... Ah. There. That little red light must it's recording.

Greetings! As must be painfully obvious, I'm quite unused to these devices so I will skip straight to the point.

Is it common for everyone here to be wearing something different or is it some manner of uniform? Oh, and assuming the former is the case, are there any guidelines on what is and is not acceptable in this culture?

I know it must seem a strange question, but aside from the metal inhabitants, 'twas the first thing I noticed. And I'd rather avoid making any unfortunate assumptions on my very first day.

Your assistance is much appreciated.

You are free to wear whatever you please, though most would prefer you not wander about in the altogether.

[Helpful?]

The biggest rule is: wear something that covers your bum and the opposite end. But you should also probably wear more than that, especially if the weather's bad. People may argue there's more to it than that, but that's what it boils down to.

There is a tailor in the shopping district that keeps a catalogue of clothing options available for purchase. It would likely be a good way to gain an idea of what is most commonly worn by others. I can send the directions via this device if you like.

If you would prefer I could escort you there from the town square. I am overdue a visit myself, and it may be easier than fussing with the map coordinates.

I am glad to hear it. The weather is rather cold, and it wouldn't do to get frostbite in sensitive areas.

Would you mind if I brought my amaro hatchling with me? He is due a walk. He's very friendly, soft, and fluffy.

Then we shall be in the square shortly. Look for the most adorable black bird in a cute jacket and you'll find us.

I'd recommend a coat, if nothing else. Being yet in the dead of winter as we are.

My, that is an unusual question. But no, there's no matter of uniform or any such thing; one's welcome to wear whatever they find suitable. Is that not ordinarily the case wherever you've come from?

Not quite as likely to freeze your bollocks off as you would be in a Coerthan winter, but once it gets below a certain temperature it doesn't make much difference.

[...Why did that sound vaguely familiar?]

Well, that is certainly a fascinating approach. Luckily it doesn't sound as though the alternative has been too shocking for you.

[He quickly stifled a quiet laugh.] --I would dare say the city's seen stranger things itself, so I wouldn't be too worried if I were you.

[Strangely enough, this has never come to mind before. Then again, what sort of bug really needs clothes?]

I have a cloak.

My homeland. Tis high in the mountains, so it was never the warmest of places, even before everything froze over.
