[The recording Aqua sends out today is short and sweet:]

I had an idea a little while ago, when more people arrived.

How about we all get together and make a cookbook of foods from all of our worlds! That way we can all try some new things or learn to make them and we can share a bit more about our worlds and cultures!

Wow, that's a real smart idea, Master Aqua! A book like that... Just thinkin' about it makes me hungry!

Now this? This is an idea I can get behind. Natch, I can't reveal any Taako brand recipes, but I could probably see about giving out a few random worlds from my world.

[And take a shitload of cues from what other people contribute.]

Seems like food's our biggest concern here so far, huh? You aren't the only one to be asking about it on this weird network thing.

Hopefully we'll find plenty of things to put into it to satisfy that hunger. Until; then, you are eating okay. Right?

Yeah, I noticed that too. I can't blame anyone, replicators just... don't quite hit everything perfectly. Maybe recipe-wise but it never seems quite right.

That's the polite way of saying they're absolute garbo. Why is everyone so determined to be nice about the quality of the food here? It's ridiculous!

I was raised not to say it so... bluntly, but you're not wrong.

So it would only help everyone, right? Even if they don't want to openly admit how terrible the food can be.

Yeah, I noticed that seems to be a common affliction here. Trust me, these people? They don't seem to give two shits whether we insult the food or not. They can't taste and telling them "oh it's fine" means they aren't going to try and improve it.

One step at a time, at least. Maybe we could figure out how to program some things in or improve what's already there.

And some people learning to cook never hurts. I wouldn't mind brushing up a bit either.

If those machines can figure out how to give us better quality ingredients, I'll never say no to that. Otherwise, I've got a side gig of doing just that - provided that I get paid and I know what you're asking for.

There's a lot of cooks here, apparently - it's finding true chefs, like yours truly, that seems to be difficult. Not that I wouldn't mind a few sous chefs or three.

That's a wonderful idea. I have a few recipes, but they're mostly for baking.

Nothing wrong with baking recipes. Dessert is just as important, I think. At least sometimes.

What kind are they?

Well... I like to bake nearly anything, especially cupcakes... But my specialty is almond bars.

I'm definitely not against someone being paid fairly for goods and services. Especially if it gets more people cooking and eating better.

[No harm in that! She hasn't privated anything, anyone can see.]

I definitely wouldn't ever call myself a true chef but cooking is fun.

And I've always believed making people smile is important.

Almond bars and cupcakes? Those sound really good.

I'm not super huge into being a supplier, but until I get enough to open a pop-up stand, I can make due with earning my funds that way I guess.

So? What's your contribution to this little project of yours?

I beg your pardon if you've already answered this, but, are the ingredients here that similar to your world? Because they are not from my system.

Is there perhaps a way to learn more about these recipes even if I do not have one to contribute myself? I'm not exactly the most proficient when it comes to cooking...

Sure, sure! But my pal the King would always say I got an iron stomach - I can eat anything!

That sounds like fun! I can't really cool though...

But I've seen some interesting food back home. Like in Chismest, there was a candy store that made me try this mushroom candy, It was actually really good!

That's definitely lucky! Hopefully nothing that ends up in our Havenwell Cookbook ends up challenging your stomach though.

I'd hate to see you get sick.

I used to make breakfast for Ven, Terra, and myself- they probably wouldn't have eaten until lunch if I didn't, the knuckleheads. [She says this fondly.]

I know a few recipes for ice cream though, from Disney Town.

That's a first, actually.

I've definitely seen a few things I don't recognize and I know there are some things missing, but I'm sure we can substitute as needed with some careful taste testing.

Oh, absolutely! I'm hoping if we get enough, we can publish our own- I guess digital- cookbook. If you can think of anything, even if it seems really simple or boring to you, I'm sure someone else will love it.

So, if that is holding you back at all, don't worry about it.

That's okay!

If we all get together sometime to work out ideas and make a draft, maybe you could find someone who really knows what they're doing and describe what you liked to them. We can try to replicate it.

Or you can decide if you wanted something to change and go from there.

I've always thought so, too. A smile can be a very powerful thing, I think.
