After some investigation I have compared the calendar of this world to my own, to quite a surprising find. It's the same. Not the names of the months or the current date, but the length of time. The same amount of days in a year, the same length of time in a day, with measurements of time being equal to our own.
To have two different worlds have such exactly equal timetables invites questions. Perhaps it means that, in order to sustain life, a planet must be at a very specific distance from its star, and travel at a very specific speed.
Another theory may involve dimensional travel. In it, we would not truly be "moving", per se. That is, if I where standing at one point on my world when I ended up here, I did not 'move' from that space to another spot, but instead shifted from one dimension to another. It has been theorized that there are limitless dimensions out there, with those closest being nigh indistuinguishable from our own. However, the further away you get, the more each world would differ from each other, to the point that they would no longer seem to have anything in common.
These, of course, are just two postulations on how such a phenomenon could occur. It would take more data to know the true answer.

[Yes, he did say all of that out loud, including the dates. Record-keeping is important.]

In other news, there is a nine year old child without a guardian here. I need someone to come take custody of her.

Honestly, not a lot. I was raised to train children as Keybearers but that's not anything I would put on a kid here.

[She knows ice cream doesn't count as breakfast, at the very least. ~~Ven.~~]

Define a 'keybearer'. We don't have them where I'm from.

It's not the easiest thing to explain. Until about ten years ago, we were a complete secret.

[She knows that got a little screwy thanks to the man on the beach.]

We're bearers of a unique weapon called a Keyblade. And our duty is to protect the world order and the Princesses of Heart.

[Very. Fairytale-like.]

You are a type of guard then. And children are involved in this?

Typically, yes. We choose children whose Hearts are strong to inherit a Keyblade. So long as it accepts them, we take them on as our apprentices. I was raised by my Master.

How does one determine if a child's heart is strong?

We are at the city square. Or, if you could tell me your location, I could bring her there. What is your name?

After training a long time, we learn to sense the strength of someones Heart, the Light and the Darkness inside of it.

I'm actually near Ainea's temple now but I'd be glad to come and meet you both.

Perhaps it would be simpler for you to come here. The other child is already with you?

I see. So it's some sort of sense. What was the world you were on called?

She is, Rin isn't used to being alone. And she's pretty young.

[She might bring Rin along, unless the little girl would rather stay at home.]

The world I was raised on was called the Land of Departure. I came here from a world called Destiny Islands though.

Perhaps it would be good for them to meet.

[Then they can distract each other with their childishness.]

...Interesting names for worlds. You're able to travel between them where you're from?

That's a great idea. I'll ask Rin, I don't want to force her into anything.

[It would be sweet to see, she thinks.]

Some of us can, yeah. We keep the Lanes Between sealed, to protect the Worlds from the threats of the others.

[Straightforward names, it seemed. That made it easier to remember what they were for.]

What equipment did you use for traveling?

[No one would ever be tooconfused in her world at least.]

We used our gliders- vehicles that transformed from our Keyblades. And armor specially made to protect our Hearts from the Darkness. It's not the only way. Mickey used a Star Shard.

Gliders. I'm afraid that the meaning of that word likely differs from my world to yours. Could you describe them?

[Because surely a hang glider couldn't do that.]

A star shard. Does that contain divine power?

It's a bit hard, actually. All of our gliders looked different when they transformed from our Keyblades. Kind of unique to each individual bearer, but it was used to fly. We used them in races in Disney Town too.

[Definitely a bad use of the gliders.]

I don't think so. I never used one, personally, but Mickey used it to jump between worlds. Master Yen Sid would explain it better if he were here.

I see. You have one of these keyblades?

I do. Our Keyblades are unique to use as well. Thankfully, I have access to mine again here, so I'll be able to protect the kids and the rest of the people here.

May I see it?

[Seemed the simplest way to understand it.]

[She's quiet for a moment, considering. And then hums softly, making her choice.]

I don't see why not. If we're going to be here awhile, someone is bound to see it eventually.
