[Cor's not great at this whole party thing, especially as this time it's not just a family gathering but intended for the friends they'd made here as well. The video starts with Cor sitting in a cushy white and grey striped armchair, a stone fireplace beside him glowing warmly. It's a classy set up and far above the townhouses they've been in.]

It's New Years, celebrations are in order. His Majesty, Ignis, and I have obtained a larger space and we'd like to offer our home for the festivities. Feel free to stop in, have some snacks, and await midnight with us.

[He looks a little paranoid at first, double, then triple checking that he's done this right.]

It's also his Majesty's birthday. He's always eager to sweep it under the New Years celebrations but he has no reason to shy away from any such celebrations here. Don't let him.

[The new house is really very nice. It's nothing compared to the Citadel but it is very nice. Clean and homey with the accents of warm wood that, if Cor didn't know better, he'd have thought was reclaimed.

There's a fire in the hearth, hor d'ouerve trays laid out on the kitchen counters. The replicator is of course available to anyone who wants something specific, though you might be surprised to find she responds to voice commands and is distressingly cheerful to talk to. The house is open for examination! Go on, explore folks, mingle away.]

[Action - Midnight]
[As chill as the night is Cor makes a point of slipping through the crowd throughout the evening. There's a number of Lucis Caelums and other magic users as well. So when the time comes near he does his best to usher everyone into the backyard, or at least onto the back porch.

He's certainly not the one to lead the countdown, no someone more energetic can do that, but at the final count a series of spells get fired into the night sky. They may not be traditional fireworks but a few Flares, Thundaras, and spells he has no names for will work well enough, don't you think?]

[ Era does not like receiving compliments, but the way Pyra phrases it is something that she can accept readily for it is not a compliment of her, but of her dress, which is then a compliment to Hades. ]

I shall pass your compliment along to the one who created it.

[ .....Ah! Create. She has an idea of who that might be, given her and his relationship, but she inquires nevertheless with tilt of her head. ] Oh...? Who?

You would know him as Emet-Selch.

[ She smiles. Oh, that's sweet of him. ]

Mm, he did a fine job... Although-- [ Honestly. The entire outfit, the make up, the heels! Her gaze softens. ]

You wear is so nicely, too. Better than anyone else would, I think. [ Credit goes to the model, too. ]

It is because he created it just for me, so it is flattering with my features in mind. Were he to do the same with another in mind, they would wear it best.

[ She does not think herself beautiful, but she knows that Hades has the skill to bring out the beauty in things if he is so inclined.

What matters most to her is that he was so inclined. The fact that he made her this dress because she asked, and he made it thinking only of her as the one to wear it... That is all that matters to her. ]

Era... [ GURL. She is trying to compliment you! She, who wears the dress, the style! This isn't going to stop her from trying to get her compliment across. Third time's the charm, right? Or perhaps not. Either way, she's reaching for that gold star--

I mean to say that you are beautiful tonight. [ A pause, and she continues. ] Your dress, yes, your make up and shoes as well.

[ But. ] Also you-- because you've been dancing, and... even your talent is beautiful. You are a joy to be around, Era, and even more wonderful to know, even if we have not known each other long.

[ With the utmost fondness: ] Happy Heavensturn.

If there is beauty to be found, it is thanks to the kindness of others. Fashion, make-up, dance — all are skills gifted to me by generous teachers.

[ The only part of her she considers beautiful all her own and without question is the unique shade of her eyes, though she has growing confidence in other parts now thanks to the attention Hades has doted upon her. The bright shade of her lips tonight is not merely meant to draw attention to her face during conversation, but also because she knows how fond her partner is of them. So, too, is that the reason behind the make-up she painted upon her eyelids.

While she is not with him in this moment, she fully intends to gift him with her first kiss after the stroke of midnight. And she fully intends to look as beautiful as she can for him when she does so. ]

But... it is kind of you to say, regardless.

[ Good to know that others may find her beautiful tonight, since it means that he likely will as well. ]

Mm. [ Bringing her hand to her chest, she nods. ]

That kindness they've gifted you, you have made into your own unique facet. Even so, I will remember to honor those teachers of yours as well tonight.

[ Might as well celebrate the kindness found in everyone, Era, her teachers of them, and all else who display such virtues in the rest of the multiverse. ]

Heavensturn is not about honouring others, but reflecting upon the year past, and hoping for good fortune in the coming year.

[ Starlight was the celebration to honour the kindness and generosity of others, Heavensturn is a celebration of new beginnings. At least that's how she sees it. ]

[ Others, as she has always, and reflect on the past year and hope for the coming year! No take-backs for these compliments. She means them. ]

[ Era nods her acknowledgement, deciding not to touch the issue further. To have Pyra honour the ones who mean so much to Era, but mean nothing to her rubs her the wrong way. It feels disingenuous, even if she believes herself being genuine.

They are the people that matter to Era, not Pyra. They deserve honour, yes, but not from this stranger who should be honouring the ones she knows as more than just a vague concept. ]

[ She loves them, regardless. With this grace in her heart, and knowing she has even more to love now, she gives her a nod that's accompanied by an even warmer smile, despite the tone of farewell in Era's voice. ]
