That's fine, it's hardly required. And I'm certainly in no position to enforce something like that. I don't rightly want to be, either.

It's a list Craig put together. [He says it completely deadpan as if that explains everything. It doesn't though. He knows that. So after a beat or two of silence, he laughs and fills in the details.]

He's a dude who'd take an advertisement you wanted and post it up. Need some mercs? Go find Craig's List. Got a problem with gerblins eating your pumpkins? Look up an adventurer on Craig's List. Whoever the fuck he was, he got around. He'd print out these fliers and just pop 'em up everywhere he went. Somehow managed to keep it all up to date, too, so you didn't go try to cash in on a quest only to find out some other jackass killed the person who requested it three weeks ago over a disagreement about cheese.

[Ciel just gives him the most deadpan of looks. He gets the feeling some of that is bullshit but he really couldn't guess how much or how little.]

The general idea would be that it would be community managed rather than one person. And, preferably, would not involve hiring mercenaries or anything unsavory though I'm aware I couldn't control that.

Hey now, don't knock a mercenary. They're just out to make a buck or two like any of the rest of us.

They're distasteful. They almost certainly have skills they can employ in a more respectable and reliable manner.

That's some haaaarsh judgment there, kiddo. You sure you want to call them distasteful when they're only doing what rich people are too squeamish to do themselves? Is not like they're killing or fighting for the fun of it. They're doing it because the rich won't do it themselves, and decide that paying someone else is better than putting their own fancy asses at risk.

That's on the employer. I went on my own assignments rather than hiring someone of ill-repute.

If the had more respect for themselves and their skills, they wouldn't need to rely on mercenary work and the rich would have to hire them properly due to a lack of an easy and temporary workforce.
