Hello! This is a little sudden, but I'd like to hear some opinions. Anyone who has time, please go ahead and answer!

Does it seem to you like the native folks are getting better at keeping the basic requirements of human life in mind?

How should a person bargain for things like meal breaks, sleep breaks and so on with potential employers who haven't needed such things themselves in thousands of years? Would it even be possible to persuade someone like that?

Would it be possible for someone with an ordinary, mundane human body to impersonate a robot? How would you do it? Would there be a punishment if you got caught, do you think?

This is all just brainstorming, so please don't worry about wrong answers! Thank you!

[Tony was pretty entertained by the questions, even if they get downright bizarre by the end. They make him laugh, so what the hell.]

A) Yes, they do seem to be getting better. B) Yes, you can negotiate anything if you've got the right talent. An alternative would be to start your own company as we could use more non-native businesses around here. C) Perhaps, but why would you want to? That sounds really dull. D) What did you drink or take this morning and is there some left for sharing?

Sleep breaks? Whose ever heard of a sleep break? If one of my employees came begging for something like that I would laugh them right out of my office and slam the door in their face.

Are the rules too stringent or are you just lazy?

[As someone who operated on minimal requirements himself, Kaiba could be a difficult employer to work with. Thankfully the vice president was a little more lenient and was able to exert some influence over policies... ]

As for the rest of that.. why bother? I doubt it's an arrestable offense unless you're also trying to gain access to a restricted area, or confidential information

B) Ah, in that case, write up a list of conditions you need to work properly. After that, you take your list and your cute face and tell every director in the city that with your talent they'll need to pay you double what they're offering and meet every condition. If you say it with enough confidence, you'll have multiple offers within a week.

C) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

D) Adding vodka makes that more fun.

[ooc: With Gladio mun's permission.]

Ok G's giving me his disapproving 'ate a lemon' look. Real advice, you shouldn't feel bad about your needs. If you're honest about them and upfront that this is what humans need any good boss would be understanding. If they aren't willing to work with you, you don't want that asshole as a boss anyway.

[ Congratulations Kyoko, she needed a distraction and this is one, apparently. ]

If by "human" you mean those who possess needs that are not ones easily fulfilled by the current lifestyles of the citizens, it is possible. We have been here long enough, after all.

As for the second, in some cases you would have less luck, but fortunately in some ways the population seems to have become more sensitive to certain needs, given they do not wish to see harm done to those brought here, let alone for them to be put in potential danger. You might approach a negotiation from that angle - allowing your enthusiasm to shine and appealing to some basic desires to protect.

Magic might give you an illusionary form, but without knowledge about those you are seeking to blend in with or their culture, let alone embarking on it under a misguided purpose, it would probably not last very long at all. Any perceived punishment would likely derive from your intention--why you would choose to deceive in the first place, or if you were truly wanting to connect enough to fit in with their people.

While they certainly seem to be getting better, there’s still plenty they don’t know. In my experience working with them from a press standpoint, however, they’re quite receptive to our feedback and try to be accommodating. We’re a valuable asset to them, after all.

Are you trying to get a job with them, yourself?

What exactly is it that you do, and is the pay at least comparable? That isn't a skill that I would advertise to any potential employers...

[Hey, if he could get away with working for days on end he would. It's just that same VP happens to be his younger brother and Mokuba would find a way to make Seto take a break]

Considering that they are dependent on our assistance we should be the ones writing the rules, not following them anyway

How long ago was your previous scare with them? If any significant amount of time has passed, whether it be through observed changes in the world since then, perhaps they might also have had time to reconsider their methods, depending on what it is you want from them. Currying favor should not be too difficult if you do not trod upon their beliefs.

[Tony sighed, not liking that he might not be the best person to give advice in this situation after all. He's never had to apply for a job before or work under anyone else's rules. Hmm, but that didn't mean he couldn't help as a former businessman though.]

Fair enough.

What about presenting yourself not as a nuisance that they have to work around but as a novelty that would make their shows more interesting? There aren't many of us here and have you seen too many of us going to these auditions?
shroudedsecrets: (doubt all intent)

You would not know unless you made the attempt.

However, you have said that things have changed since the last time. Certainly a lot has changed for them during this past year as well, in having us be among them. Perhaps you could seek out that doctor of theirs and see if they will provide some form of evaluation for you, based upon what you seek to provide or how they might understand your needs better. That might give them more to think about, were they to hear findings from their own community.

I get how it'd make you feel like the 'bearded lady' though.

Anyone else giving you some ideas about posing as a native? If you figure that out, I'd really like to hear about it.

If nothing else, we could use you in a month or so to make a commercial for our new bar opening up. I don't know if we'll have any money but you could use it as an audition clip.

LOL

No I just think it's hysterical and want to know if it's possible.

Admittedly, I have not interacted with the doctor before to know for certain how they would respond, but it is possible they would be at least familiar with the concept of being able to assess and retain your information and relay it to the necessary parties if you wished.
