Hello! This is a little sudden, but I'd like to hear some opinions. Anyone who has time, please go ahead and answer!
Does it seem to you like the native folks are getting better at keeping the basic requirements of human life in mind?
How should a person bargain for things like meal breaks, sleep breaks and so on with potential employers who haven't needed such things themselves in thousands of years? Would it even be possible to persuade someone like that?
Would it be possible for someone with an ordinary, mundane human body to impersonate a robot? How would you do it? Would there be a punishment if you got caught, do you think?
This is all just brainstorming, so please don't worry about wrong answers! Thank you!

A) Yes, they do seem to be getting better. B) Yes, you can negotiate anything if you've got the right talent. An alternative would be to start your own company as we could use more non-native businesses around here. C) Perhaps, but why would you want to? That sounds really dull. D) What did you drink or take this morning and is there some left for sharing?
Text
C) I just wanted to consider potential backup plans! That's all.
D) I only drank orange juice this morning, sir.
Re: Text
C) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
D) Adding vodka makes that more fun.

Are the rules too stringent or are you just lazy?
[As someone who operated on minimal requirements himself, Kaiba could be a difficult employer to work with. Thankfully the vice president was a little more lenient and was able to exert some influence over policies... ]
As for the rest of that.. why bother? I doubt it's an arrestable offense unless you're also trying to gain access to a restricted area, or confidential information
Text
I suppose you're right about it not being an arrestable offense, most likely. I wonder if there's even a law written about that specific scenario.

If by "human" you mean those who possess needs that are not ones easily fulfilled by the current lifestyles of the citizens, it is possible. We have been here long enough, after all.
As for the second, in some cases you would have less luck, but fortunately in some ways the population seems to have become more sensitive to certain needs, given they do not wish to see harm done to those brought here, let alone for them to be put in potential danger. You might approach a negotiation from that angle - allowing your enthusiasm to shine and appealing to some basic desires to protect.
Magic might give you an illusionary form, but without knowledge about those you are seeking to blend in with or their culture, let alone embarking on it under a misguided purpose, it would probably not last very long at all. Any perceived punishment would likely derive from your intention--why you would choose to deceive in the first place, or if you were truly wanting to connect enough to fit in with their people.
text
That's kinda what I was thinking! They even have a clinic for us non-robots now--they're probably getting used to us, even if just a little bit. But then, if they worry TOO much, that's a problem too. Especially if you've given them a scare before, they might be afraid to let you work with them again.
I definitely can't disguise myself with magic.... And for sure, I would have to study them a lot more before I could blend in with them for very long. As for my motives... well, it's not like I would be trying to spy on them. It would all be a last resort anyway.

Are you trying to get a job with them, yourself?
[text]
Yes--I've worked with them before, actually, but it ended kinda badly. But that was a while ago, so I'm wondering if they might understand my situation a little better this time, if I can get them to let me try again.

I can't imagine a good reason to have to impersonate a robot. If nothing else, it's pretty clear we're nothing like that [In most cases.] so our actions would probably give that away even if we tried.
Text
Impersonation is a hypothetical last-case scenario. I was just thinking about it, that's all.

They have gotten better, yes. It has been nearly two years since the first of us arrived so it would be more surprising if they hadn't.
Overall their natures seem to be friendly, inquisitive, and eager to help. If there is an industry you wish to join I am certain there will be no need for persuasion, but simply a gentle reminder on what mortals require to maintain good health. If there is still an issue you can reach out to the city council and make your case.
I do not believe human would be able to impersonate one of the natives here to a degree that would be convincing — at least in the long-term. If not attempted maliciously I doubt there would be any punishments, but rather they would find it humourous. They would also likely be concerned for the health of the individual as well, as it may be very strenuous on the mortal form depending on the extent of the mimicry.
From my experience as of late, while the natives are not inclined to change their own ways of life, they are incredibly welcoming in regards to making accommodations for us. Just as there are things we can do that they cannot due to their inorganic forms, so too are there things we cannot do that they can. They are very understanding of this.
May I ask which employer you are interested in working with?

I guess the problem is that I kinda left the entire entertainment industry with the wrong impression of my capabilities, I'm pretty sure.... It was my fault, for not being clear about my limits from the outset last time.
Maybe the question I really should have asked is, how do you convince an employer to give you another chance? I don't know if the usual way I'd do it would work in this situation....

> I doubt you would have must difficulty, honestly. They may not be used to being flesh and blood any more, but they are trying to learn and keep our needs in mind. I'm sure a gentle reminder of our limitations would be all they needed, considering how much of an impact we're making on their world so far. They'd want us to be as healthy and happy as possible.
> I couldn't say. Although, I could see them being split between amusement and being insulted at attempts to impersonate them.

I wouldn't try to impersonate them for a long time!
