Now that it's staying cold, I figured we could all use something fun around. Or maybe I just what to have fun. Who knows? Either way you'll get to enjoy it.

I plan on doing some decorating around the fountain in the main square. Any requests? I'm pretty confident about most animals and any type of geometric designs. Of course if you pick something I don't know you'll have to give me a pretty good picture of it if you want a close representation. And I definitely can't do specific people. I'm not that talented.

[Well, he probably is that talented but it would be way too much work and definitely give away the fact that he's blind.]

Decorating with animals...? [Hm!] What about, like, some dinosaurs? Around the fountains, I bet they'd look really, really cool!

Well, with anything really. I know I'll do some animals though.

[He knows a few of those, but he'll have to see how accurate his memory is]

Any specific kinds? Or... generally specific since I'm not actually sure what any of them are called.

[He hadn't thought quite this far ahead, so he sits back for a moment to consider it with an audible,] Hmmmm...

Maybe, like, a stegosaurus? [Or, rather, since Devon's not sure he knows all their names,] The ones with four legs and plates down their back. [That should be an easy enough one to figure out, he thinks.] Maybe a T-rex, too. Those big guys that stand on two legs.

[Very descriptive.]

I'll certainly give it a try! They probably won't be 100% accurate though since I've only seen them a few times.

[He acts like he's actually seen a dinosaur... which is sort of has actually.]

Yeah! [Great! He looks pretty excited about this idea, giving a big grin and thumbs up to the screen.] Even if they don't look totally real, it's not like I've seen one in real life, so it's not like I'd know, hah. It'll be really awesome either way I bet!

Might I put forward a request for some ambystoma? The creatures were but recently approved in my world and I think they would make for some positively adorable decorations.

I've even prepared an admittedly less-than-helpful drawing to aid you in your decorating endeavors.

[He holds up the picture in question. It looks a bit like an axolotl.]

Any chance you could send me that picture? Or describe it a little bit more?

[He's not one hundred percent sure how to send this--or whether or not he's meant to do so physically or electronically--so he settles on describing the creature instead.]

Let's see... They're roughly the size of my hand--so fairly small--and are amphibious in nature. Four legs, a finned tail, pink...

[He counts the features on his fingers, shutting his eyes to try and picture them in his mind.]

Oh, and they have the most adorable faces, with small, black eyes, and little frills on the sides of their heads. They also float a few ilms off the ground, but you need not worry about that. I just happen to find it charming.

[Devon tries really hard to put the words she's describing into a picture in his head. He's not sure his image is anywhere near right, but it's the best he's got.]

So it's like... a tad pol with legs? And head frills?

Almost. Closer to a salamander, I think, but you're very close!

Huh. Well, I'll give it a try at least. No promises it will be right though.

We'd do ourselves all a disservice if we didn't have at least one dragon, I think.

And a proper one, not the little lizards they've got around town!

[Oh dear. That was not the best description, especially when it's so easy for a certain little dragon to take that the wrong way. Before Devon can even answer the entire screen is suddenly filled by a crystalline blue dragon head. Sapphire eyes glint in fury as the tiny water dragon lets lose a screeching whistle and tries to go after Lup through the screen.

Devon lunges after the little dragon and snatches her up before she can do any real damage.]

Not what she meant! She wasn't talking about you!

[At least he really didn't think Lup was. With an irritated little Kyuu that rumbles more threateningly than usual, Aquaras settles herself on Devon's shoulder and continues to glare at the screen. With a sigh, Devon tries to turn his attention back to his requester.]

I was definitely going to have some dragons.

[By the blessing of hundreds of years seeing all manner of bizarre monstrosities jumping out at her - in person, even - a cranky dragon over a communicator screen mostly gets a surprised browlift out of her, and a quiet "huh".]

I don't know, that one looks pretty little, too.

[She shouldn't antagonize, but the darn thing made it so easy. And just because they love to get in on the mischief, her faerie dragon sneaks their head out between the folds of her hair and hiss-laughs at the screen, too.]

[The rumbling growl gets a little louder, but at least this time Aquaras stays on Devon's shoulder and behaviors.]

Only because she likes to sit on my shoulder. Although the magic here messes with her ability to change her size. She can't get very big here.

[Which Devon knows annoys his girl to no end.]

((Apologies for the long delay. My life blew up on me... and is continuing to do so.))

What is it about dragons and perching? Like angry firebirds, I swear. The size thing seems sensible, though. We haven't got all that much space to work with, compared to most of the worlds I've seen before.

[Crystal eyes narrow again as another hiss slips out. Devon just pats Aquaras consolingly.]

Yes, yes. You aren't Fuert. She didn't mean anything by it.

[Apparently it's seriously traumatic to be mistaken for a fire dragon.]

Water bird in this case.

[Lup can't help it, she rolls her eyes.]

And mine breathes fart rainbows, what's your point? Tell her that no one likes nitpickers.

Well, in this case I'm not sure its nitpicking. Fire and water are exact opposite elements, and Aquaras is the actual element in the form of a dragon and not just a dragon using an element.

[She's officially bored out of her gourd of this already.]

Imma split the difference and just call her Wet Noodle, then.

[Beady blue eyes narrow and a moment later Aquaras vanishes from the screen. The moment she disappears from his shoulder Devon's face goes pale and he launches himself toward the screen too.]

No, no, no! Aquaras don't!

[That's about all the warning Lup gets before the tiny water dragon materializes over her head. With a furious Kyuuu! Aquaras shoots an ice stream of water at Lup's face, thankfully not any stronger than a hose, before flying over her head and de-materializing. That, of course, releases all the water that had made up Aquaras' dragon form and sends another round of cold water crashing down on Lup's head.

Unable to do anything more from the other side of the computer screen, Devon just moans.]

Decorating? What for?

For fun really.

[Or for practice. Or maybe both.]

For fun...? As a hobby? [ look, kaworu doesn't do things for fun besides playing the violin, and even then he wonders if it's "fun". basically he has no hobbies )= ]

Both as a hobby and for practice really. Who knows when the skills I've made easy by doing this can be helpful in a battle.
