How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,
[He normally would try to lay low in a given world. Faust, too, has suggested he's should. Brining attention onto himself is a bad, bad, very bad idea.
But he can't help it. There's working internet. And he has the power of typing and bad ideas on his side.]
Hey new world! I'm Teo! Just got here. I'm from Earth, but from my last world, I learned that's pretty common, and every Earth seems to be different from the others. Who's from somewhere new and who here's from Earth? And for those from Earth, what's the thing that makes it different?
Alternate introduction question: What's everyone's favorite thing to do here?

Almost can mean some very close calls.
And casualties.
Have you seen many ghosts? Talked to them?
no subject
He's trying to sound like he isn't a moody brat brooding for any particular reason right now, though. So.]
Two nice ghosts and one mean ghost
Who wasn't really mean so much as a little kid throwing a tantrum
When ghosts get powerful they can get really dangerous I guess
[Even the nice ones had done things to hurt or scare him.]
One of those ghosts lives with my friend Oscar (who lives in Oklahoma, not Iceland or Finland)
We play cards and watch movies
no subject
I've only met one.
[He doesn't know how he feels about all that. It makes sense. It makes a terrible sort of sense. All the lingering dead were restless in one way or another. He remembers that plea for help. It'd had been a lure, yes, but he knows in his heart it was more than that.
But desperation would've still driven that spirit, that troll, to kill them all. A kid throwing a tantrum...]
Your one ghost sounds nicer than mine was, at least.
Does she not want to move on?
no subject
Asking by this point is probably rude
I know she's attached to the house though
She likes it when we're there
[Mostly...]
What was up with yours?
no subject
I could understand.
[He does understand, including wanting to hang on just for that and more.]
I guess saying it was a ghost isn't the whole truth.
I got powers in the last world I was in.
I could hear it calling, begging to be heard.
We learned it was a thing called a troll, a kind of undead that had been warped by the same infection that wiped out the world.
The trolls, their bodies weren't just walking corpses, they were changed.
They were horrible.
It called and pretended to be a living person in trouble so it could kill and eat us.
But it also called because it was asking for help.
I killed it and then, with the powers, I set its soul free and sent it on.
I still don't know how I did it, really.
It seemed grateful but
it wasn't a great time.
It never really is, I guess.
But the rest of those on the island survived for it, so that's something.
no subject
Wow
That really sucks
[And...sounds...kind of familiar. Mmm. Don't like that.]
What was the infection called?
no subject
That's the apocalypse for you.
[And a second later, he moving along.]
The Rash.
According to what we read, it was what it sounded like for most people.
Big rash that spread and killed them.
But some changed to trolls.
We came to that world about a hundred years after the outbreak.
Humanity was picking up the pieces by then, but still smaller than it was.
no subject
That's freaky
What about the one before that in your world?
We're there any undead that were alright?
I know a skeleton that's an okay dude
no subject
Made me almost glad for my own apocalypse.
[Were there any undead that were alright? What a question. It stabs him in the heart. He half wants to blurt, Me! I'm alright! But even he's not that stupid.]
I hoped I'd find some that were okay, but I didn't.
Not yet, anyway.
I honestly don't know if there's a special name in my world.
I just call them what they are.
Being a skeleton sounds really inconvenient.
How does he hold the pieces of him together?
Crazy to think that's even a thing.
no subject
That's only half a joke
He could come apart, too
It was pretty cool
He actually liked being a skeleton more than having skin and stuff
no subject
After all the crazy things I've seen, that seems way too believable.
Sounds like a weird but cool guy.
I'm guessing he wasn't the gnawing-on-people kind?
no subject
I have a hard time liking people that would snack on me
He doesn't eat most of the time
He's dead-dead during the day unless he tries really hard
no subject
[Another reason to never tell anyone anything.]
Like a skeleton vampire...
I'd miss the sun, personally.
no subject
Without the drinking blood part
He’s got a kid that can make it look and feel like it’s the best kind of weather you can remember
Still doesn’t get to do day stuff though
And the kid’s a newer thing
no subject
A whole magic family?
That's really amazing.
[For a moment, he imagines meeting that person from his letter, finding them like him. Unlikely though.]
I guess every kind of undead has downsides.
Even the nice ones.
no subject
Didn't know magic was real until his future wife told him she was part of a mage family
And then he died but didn't
Grass is always greener, or whatever
Can't make everything go perfectly
no subject
The used-to-be-normal one.
[And the dying, but he can't say that.]
Makes me wonder if my world ever had magic.
But, I guess since the apocalypse happened, probably not.
no subject
Who knows?
Bad shit happens no matter what
Magic can't fix a bunch of stuff, especially if it's secret
no subject
Wilde, even.]I guess so...
I did hear of a world where having magic could put a person in danger
But people were dying in mine.
Nearly everyone's gone.
It's not that I think people with power have to be the ones saving the day, I know it's more complicated.
But, if you COULD do something, if you had the power, wouldn't you?
no subject
Depends what it is and what sick power I got
no subject
Okay, another point for you.
I guess I'm thinking of something that's actually useful against whatever's going on.
Even though I got that power in the other world, I still felt pretty useless, so it would have to be something good.
no subject
[Whatever "this" is. The conversation? He's getting points, anyway, so he's allowed to celebrate, especially to ignore actual feelings in favor of fun until he feels mellow enough to deal with things properly.
...Not that this topic is very fun, actually.]
Not that useless
I didn't get to see Taki pass on, but it was good for him even though he was just like a normal kid still
He needed something and he got it
Your ghost was grateful, right? The little girl, too
Helping a dead person is still helping a person, and if they aren't there or are happy, then there are fewer violent outbursts from them
They don't want to be hurting people (usually)
This way they won't, and life gets a little closer to whatever normal was
Boom, you helped fix the apocalypse
no subject
[He'd been thinking how miserable it was that it was all he could do, that he was alone, and the wotld was full of suffering souls like that.
One less person in pain. One less causing pain.]
...Thanks.
You win the good point prize. Your award will be mailed out in two to fifteen thousand business days.
no subject
My girlfriend's family did that sort of thing too so even the me that didn't know ghosts had time to think about it more I guess
Not that I don't deserve this fabulous future prize
We like edible prizes over here ftr but not after fifteen thousand business days
no subject
A man of literal taste.
Consider it noted.
If I keep my word I'll be the guy still covered up like he's from the apocalypse.
Never know when another world's gonna happen.
Might talk slow though.
I got an old injury.
Makes it tricky.
