Hey guys, Teo again.

I've been thinking, we all come from such different worlds-- or even different places in similar worlds, we've got to have a really cool mix of different cooking styles and traditional flavors. I know I've seen some unique meals and drinks in just the short time I've been here. Does anyone have any favorite recipes they'd like to share?

It can be as simple or as complicated as you like and it's okay if the ingredients aren't available here. I like looking at the recipes either way. :)

Oh, hold on, I wrote a bunch of recipe notes down back when I was kinda new here. They're pretty basic, but possible with just ingredients from the standard replicators, mostly. Here it is! Attachment

You're fan of spice, huh? You'd probably enjoy what used to be my favorite meal too. It was called Pozole. You'd make it with hominy, pork, chiles, and all sorts of vegetables and spices. The perfect soup for warming up on holidays.

The cake isn't really Japanese, but I'd promised to make it for a friend back then. ^_^ I've made it from that recipe a lot since then, actually! I'm actually kind of a spice novice, but I'd like to try more. That sounds really delicious! Hominy is a kind of corn, right? A corn... product?

Hey, cake is still cake. Can't go wrong there. Doesn't have to be Japanese, though it's really cool to see some of these.

That's right! It's the corn kernel itself, only treated through this old complicated process that softens it and makes it more digestible.

Oh! I think I've heard of something kinda like that before! Though I don't know if the process to get masa flour would actually be the same. But it's really fascinating either way!

Masa flour, yes! That's one of the things you can make! Do you have some? I didn't even know that was available here.

Sorry... I don't have any. It seems like it's the kind of thing you have to get specially added to your replicator. A friend of mine used to have it on his, but I guess he's not around anymore.

Oh. Geez, I'm so sorry, Kyoko. Trampled right over that wound, didn't I? If I manage to figure out how to get that too, I'd be happy to share, for nostalgia's sake.

No, no, you're fine! It's fine!! He didn't want to be here, so I'm sure it's for the better! But yes, if you do manage to get masa flour, I certainly wouldn't mind some! Maybe we could even do an ingredient swap.

You didn't do anything wrong, though. We were just having an innocent conversation about delicious food, and I'm already a master of watching people leave, so we're all good here! ^_^ Of course! It's only natural to share this stuff amongst ourselves. Even if you don't have anything to swap, my roommates and I don't mind.

I guess I'm glad about everything but you being a master of that. Even if you handle it now, that still sounds like something painful to build to. I don't think I could do it.

Ah, I guess my lighthearted tone didn't really come through in the text. Really, please don't worry. You're saying really nice things though--but those two are the most, most generous! Kaito and Shinji have been watching over me since the beginning, when I was really unmanageable, so you can just consider this a paying-it-forward situation.

My dude I'm a walking encyclopedia of 300 years and 100 worlds' worth of recipes. Give me a dish type or ingredient to start with and I'll work from there.

Okay, okay. For a dish type, how about a curry? Alternately, chiles as an ingredient.

Favourite, huh... chocolate oatmeal granola cookies, then.

For curry, butter chicken is the way to go.

For chiles, spicy garlic seared shrimp.

When I first got here, I ended up making tamagoyaki pretty often. It's simple, and the replicators could make the ingredients accurately.

You want to beat eggs together with some sugar, just enough to add a little sweetness to taste, add it to a hot frying pan, and carefully roll it up as it cooks. You want to have thin layers rolled together, ideally the center will be custardy and soft then you cut it into pieces.

That's made with a rectangular pan right? I think I've just used round ones, though I'm not sure... I'll have to go see what's around here either way.

That's right! You can make them in round pans too, but they won't be as uniform. It might be easier to just make a sweet omelette in that case, but that would still be tasty.

If you wanted to get a rectangular pan, there should be someone in the city who can make one.

If I'm gonna do it, I want to do right. If I gotta find a pan-maker, that's alright with me. Gotta use that money for something, right? :)

I've never cooked a big meal without servants, but I could jot down a few recipes I used when the oven was cooling at home. A cake might be too complicated for the uninitiated.

[She's typing very slowly, but she refuses to let any typos pass through. Every time she notices a mistype, she erases the entire message up to that point and tries again. Going from a pen and paper to this is a big leap, okay.]

Better yet, perhaps I should make something for you. I do adore baking for company.

[She actually hates baking, but she can't trust anyone to do it without burning down everything around them. At least not with the ovens she's used to, with no thermometers and only a vague, innate sense of how long things must be baked.]

That's a really nice offer. It's just, I can be a bit food-sensitive sometimes. Allergies. It's really best I eat at home. But, I'd be happy just to watch you bake. Or I could bring something to my roommate. He could definitely use it.
