Greetings. My name is Prince Reyson of the Heron Clan.

As you know, we have trouble lately with the breach. To ensure such a thing does not occur so suddenly, I thought about proposing a part-time perimeter guard of the walls. I think we would be better prepared should anything happen again.

Also, as I know some people were hurt or struggling, you are welcome to see me. I have the power of the galdr which means I can soothe one's spirit, trauma and pain. Should you have need of my abilities, do let me know.

[ reyson's not the best with children. he flounders a little, trying to find a nugget of tact within him. ]

Lots of people miss their homes. [ She smiles at him ]

Rin does too! But that doesn't mean you need to be sad all the time. Prince Reyson sounds like a very nice person! So Rin hopes that you will find things to be happy about here.

[ d . . . debatable. reyson came close to wiping out all humanity so. he's on the fence there. ]

I am not sad all the time. But it is difficult to talk about my home. It burned down long ago.

[ and though leanne and reyson restored it, the forest is no longer the same. there are no herons flying overheard, no song to fill the woods. ]

[ reyson has settled himself under a tree, watching the few birds settle nearby, chirping away at him. ]

Rin is here! Rin brought you flowers!

She beams and comes over to streeeeeetch up and put it carefully on his head ]

[ And then she hugs him ]

[ pats her head awkwardly . . . . ]

If Prince Reyson ever feels sad, you should call Rin! Rin will give you as many hugs as you want.

I'm not sure hugs can soothe my sadness.

They can't.

[ She agrees, still tucked against him ]

But hugs make us feel less alone, yes? They're good for you.

And what makes you think that?

Because when Rin is sad, or lonely, or hurting, and Rin gets a hug, Rin feels better.

[ She explains with the logic of a child ]

It doesn't make the hurt go away, but Rin feels better anyway, because Rin knows Rin is not alone.
