Greetings. My name is Prince Reyson of the Heron Clan.

As you know, we have trouble lately with the breach. To ensure such a thing does not occur so suddenly, I thought about proposing a part-time perimeter guard of the walls. I think we would be better prepared should anything happen again.

Also, as I know some people were hurt or struggling, you are welcome to see me. I have the power of the galdr which means I can soothe one's spirit, trauma and pain. Should you have need of my abilities, do let me know.

[ a large white bird comes flying before settling onto the ground and changing back to reyson. his wings fan out briefly as he straightens himself. reyson eyes her briefly before asking point blank. ]

What happened?

[He gets a lazy wave from where she's seated at one of the tables. She's seen it before, of course, but polymorphs of all sorts are always fun, so she can appreciate the aesthetic.]

Went for a little adventure outside the wall while it was busted. I'm giving this world a solid F for Fucked.

[ ah. he sighs. ]

You were fortunate. The negative energy out there is too strong for an ordinary person.

Wild of you to assume there's an ordinary bone in my body. Are you here to help or to lecture? Because if I wanted the latter I could have just stayed at home in bed.

[heron]

[ dryly. ]

Yes, I'm sure a nap would expunge negative energy.

Let me get a good look at you.

You'd be amazed what naps can do.

[It's worked before...! But fine, whatever. She sits back in her chair and lets him do as he pleases, though she can't help the undercurrent of nervousness in her expression and body language. [ reyson gives her a long, searching look. if he's noticed something unusual or odd, his expression doesn't show it. ]

It doesn't seem to be too bad. A galdr should expunge the energies you absorbed.

[Oh thank gods. That's a normal response. But also, not at all??]

A galdr is a song. We use songs to amplify powers, heal imbalances and help with stability.

[necromanswers]

[Her brows lift.]

Oh, damn. Like a bard? That's cool.

[Heck yeah, Healing Word her soul, or whatever.]

[ he nods. ]

Similar to that.

[ with a quiet exhale, reyson begins the galdr. the effects are not immediate, but you can feel it sapping away the negative energy. your vision brightens, the energy returns to your limbs. and it's not only you. the very air vibrates, sharper and sweeter. like for one glorious moment, you are just breathing. ]

[....Huh. She leans back further, listening with growing interest. She's a bit of a linguist, so hearing new ones is always neat, but more than that she's well aware of the magic held in a bard's song. She holds her breath as she waits for the effects, still wary, but as it kicks in she does feel better. Before the song is halfway over she exhales and breathes deep, eyes closing. It feels... nice. It feels good.

Well, shit. He might've been right about this, after all.]

[ the song eventually tapers off. reyson straightens. ]

How do you feel now?

[necromanswers]

[Lup doesn't answer right away, lifting a hand to press against her chest, over her heart. A symbolic gesture, really - this body's just s construct, her heart isn't where her soul is, and that's what is sick right now - but it helps her to feel it. She isn't cured, of course. Nothing's ever so simple. But she does feel... more at ease, strangely enough. Like an herbal tea just wrapped itself around her very core.

When she speaks, her voice is quieter than normal, and a little bit more clear- less sickly.]

I... think I feel a little better, actually.

[heron]

[ reyson nods, expecting that. the galdr rarely fails, but some powers are beyond him. ]

Good. Should you need it again, let me know.

[necromanswers]

I'll keep that in mind. Don't suppose you can heal more than that, can you? Not right now, just- asking for future reference.

While I cannot heal physical wounds, any kind of mental or spiritual affliction can be healed by the galdr.

There are very few things untouched by it, as it is the power of the Goddess.

The Goddess? So your powers come from the divine?

[Like calls to like, maybe?]

Yes. The herons are considered to be the closest to the goddess. Our powers mirror hers.

Does the goddess have a name?

[heron]

[ he nods. ]

Her name is Ashunera.

[necromanswers]

[An unfamiliar name, but that's not unusual. She can barely keep track of most of the gods of her own universe, nevermind those of other people.]

It's nice that her powers can still reach you here. [She lifts a hand.] I appreciate the effort.
