hugtopia | [text] ; a few days after the breach is sealed

Greetings.

The conditions outside of the barrier are extremely poor, confirming what had been indicated to us previously. The atmosphere is heavy, and full of toxins, and currently uninhabitable.

I have attached some images for those who may be curious.

Be aware, however, that for those of you who might have the ability to withstand such conditions in your previous universes, it will still pose a danger to you here.

[And as the text indicates, attached to this fairly open message are quite a few snapshotted images, and even a brief shaky video or two taken of the outside just beyond the breach, indicating the state of the wall from the outside just before the repairs were completed.

A few shots focus on the conditions of the broken and corroded buildings, ones that indicated that the city had once been larger. One of these shots even captures an odd looking small lizard, hiding among the rubble.

There's a few wider shots of the area, revealing some bleached bones of a large, unidentifiable creature among empty expanses of dry, cracked wasteland, a little further off.

Lastly there seem to be slightly blurred images of some of the monster activity, from further away.]

[So out Kai went, ladened with this makeshift pitcher of juice and a bag of Many Oranges. Even if Honerva didn't like them, for sick or other reasons, those twins lived with her right? Maybe a celebrity chef would put 'em to good use. No big.

He had an easier time than Vianca at least, already roughly knowing that they were probably pretty close by. And he knew the cat already! Easy peasy. Time to just. Call out into the wilds of the neighborhood.]

[Kai definitely has the advantage of being familiar with said cat and somewhat closer to the house.

And luckily for him, said cat is not difficult to find, either. Though it may take a few call outs before the orange-carrying human receives a proper response from the feline, a sharp Mrow out of curiosity mostly, as Kova meanders forward to rub just under his calves in greeting.

It's been a rough few days, even for the cat, with the state of some of his favorite people and the general upheaval recently.]

[Phew. Kai could imagine the catto hadn't been having the best time of its life recently, so it was nice to see they were generally Alright.]

[Crouching down a bit, Kai set aside the orange bag so he could hold out his hand for a sniff. Y'want some scritches, Kova? Your call, buddy.]

He can tell that you haven't brought him any treats, buddy. If he could speak, he'd probably say that Kai was on thin ice--haha, hardly, he's not going to turn down scritches, he just might seem a little huffy about it. Hard to really choose such battles as a cat when he could also appreciate such friendly contact. Especially with how it had been over the past few days. Stressful, even on an animal.]

[Wow, excuse you cat, did you really think he would come empty handed a second time? He does smell really overwhelmingly of citrus right now though, so this was the tragic assumption that anyone could make.

Here were the promised skritches, following that cozy line of his cheek to sweep down to his chinny, chin, chin.]

How do you feel about jerky? I've been tryin' some out, and the dragons never stick around to give me their review.

[Just let him caaaarefully set this orange juice aside so he could fish out this other little bag from his pockets. Ta-da~!]

[Meow! Well, that cheers him right up. Good job, Kai, you redeemed yourself in this cat's eyes. The citrus was certainly overwhelming the scents of anything else he might have had on him.

He's not about to complain about an offering, especially one that's meat. He rubs against Kai's leg, before sniffing at the bag. What's in it, can he have some please.]

[Kai chuckled, wiggling his fingers in the bag to fish out a piece. It's not going to be the best jerky in the world, since Kai definitely isn't a Celebrity Chef, but its still Meat. Or, you know, as Meat as the replicator can make. Passable Fake Meat.

[Luckily, he's not too picky about these things, even for a cat being indulged by a specialty magic chef. Not yet, anyway.

He licks at Kai's fingers to get at the piece, and gently rubs his head against Kai's leg in appreciation. Good job, human.]

Grinning, Kai gave Kova's head another rub before gathering up all those oranges again.]

Right, we should get these to your mom too, yeah? Wanna lead the way for me?

Right, he knows that Kai came there for a reason. He makes a few quick sounds at the door, but maybe everyone else is out except for the sickies.

If Kai listens real well though, he might catch the faint sound of coughing. Sound travels, there might just be an open window somewhere... but fairly indicative as to why someone would not want to use voice on an entry.]
