[Will isn't expecting a package. He hasn't ordered anything, after all--and why wouldn't he go pick it up at the store, if he had? But he gladly signs for the small padded envelope regardless, and retreats to the living room to open it. A single, marble-sized Pokéball spills out into his hand; he gasps out loud, immediately standing to enlarge it and let out the Pokémon inside. A Hypno appears in a blaze of crimson light, looking around the unfamiliar room.]

Reve! Y-you--I thought--

[A little choked noise, like he's trying not to cry, and Will throws his arms around her for a tight hug.]

I'm so, so sorry. I never meant to abandon you, I didn't know I'd be leaving.....

[Once the reunion is out of the way, Will flips on the video feed to make a post, looking more genuinely, radiantly happy than just about anyone has seen him here.]

Hi, everyone! I've got a favor to ask--or maybe an offer to make? I guess it depends on how you look at it!

Another member of my team arrived today! This is Reve.

[The camera pans over to show a Hypno sitting on the couch, polishing an already glittering pendulum. She looks up at the introduction, raising a hand in a silent greeting.]

Reve is a Hypno. Hypno are technically omnivores, but primarily psychovores--they mainly eat products of other creatures' minds. In this case, it's dreams. Where I'm from, I can normally easily keep her fed just by battling, since that's my job. That's not an option in Havenwell, though.

So my proposal is this: if you have nightmares you want to be rid of, or even if you just need help getting to sleep and want to keep your dreams, please let me know! You can contact me privately too, if you'd rather not speak up where everyone can see. There's no need to pay, of course--you're already giving us something, after all.

[Would there be anything to observe with the naked eye? Perhaps not. He'd want to look for a variety of things in the future. But, perhaps, he'd be able to witness a change in the air, like that of heat waves.]

So it would seem they are able to specifically target something for transfer.

[He'd be even more surprised by this fact if he knew Taako's world has things like Mimics, Gelatinous Cubes, Beholders, Illithids..... well, the list goes on. D&D is a pretty terrifying place; a simple Hypno doesn't seem like it should be especially frightening, with or without that context. See, that response right there is why he tries not to make a big deal about the whole psychic thing.]

It's not that uncommon for Drowzee or Munna to be prescribed for sleep disorders and nightmares. Some specialist breeders even train them to be licensed therapy Pokémon before selling them.

Are there a lot of nightmares to eat here? And how'd you get one to stay with you?

[Maybe this is another Pokémon with a direct animal counterpart? He swears he's heard the name baku before, he just can't remember where.....]

People have actually been having a lot of nightmares over the past few months, so I think there should be plenty to spare, even if people want to keep their good dreams. But I took her off the hands of another trainer who didn't understand how to take care of her right--he thought she only needed normal food. We've been together ever since!

[A very diplomatic way of putting the circumstances, but not a lie. Nobody wants to hear about a jerk mistreating their Pokémon, right?]

Never saw one myself, but legs of a tiger, body of a bear, the nose they got right, usually green or brown though.

[It's a chimerical creature. Meant to be good luck, usually revered by people for their protection. It's interesting to see one sitting around like that. This guy must have some sort of spiritual connection, right? Maybe he'll know what Doudanuki is, too.]

A....trainer? Is that like a saniwa? Or, uh, I guess a sage? I guess she won't be hungry then if there's a lot of nightmares to be had here. Kinda shitty though. Must have bad energy in the air.

[Ah, the trainer question...she's had to ask herself that quite often lately.]

Um, yes and no! I have a pokemon that I take care of, but it doesn't know any battle moves. Nebby is more of a friend to me than a partner is to a trainer.

[In the background, at the mention of it's name, a slightly muted chiming noise carries through the call. It's definitely a pokemon's cry, but no discernible words or names can be pulled from the sound to identify it.]

I suppose this might be odd to say, but I hope they are able to taste the most delicious nightmares.

[ ...What happens if no one has nightmares. ] Barring that, I wonder if those food replicators may create artificial nightmares for Reve to consume, but... I imagine that won’t be as scrumptious as real ones.

Awww, thank you for the well wishes! I'd never even considered artificial ones, though, that's a good idea. I'm not sure how the replicator could handle something like that, considering how much it struggles with even normal food--but it's definitely worth trying.

[If people aren't having nightmares, then he'll just have to feed her nice dreams instead! And be extremely happy that his friends are all sleeping well for once. Totally worth it!]

[Will just laughs brightly; he doesn't even mind the little call out, given the circumstances. He's not a Crazy Meowth Lady, he swears.]

But that's okay. Now that I know I've got all the time I need, there's no need to worry! I'll keep working hard for Ainea as long as she needs me--and the other three, too.

[This was apparently all he needed to dispel the last of his worries; Will is happy to call Havenwell his home until this world is reborn. He's in no rush to go home, especially now that he's going to be able to reassemble his team, one by one.]

[Meanwhile, Kiwi was a minute or so away, on the way back from Ohma's temple after the priests had gently shooed them home to let Link rest. Given his delirious state when they arrived, he clearly needed it. They did their best once they were home to push down their helpless fretting. Their new roommate had enough worrying about friends for one lifetime.

The front door opens, and Kiwi calls out their standard greeting.]

[Then they notice Will with...a strange creature. They approach curiously.]

Hm? Who's this?

[Kiwi is greeted by a rather skeptical looking Hypno, saying something indecipherable in smooth, sonorous voice before looking up at Kiwi over Will's shoulder. Her features are close enough to human that it's easy enough to read her expression--a clear and wholehearted 'what the shit is this shit?' all around.

It takes a moment for Will to untangle himself and turn to face Kiwi; there's the glint of fresh, smudged tear tracks on his cheeks, but his smile is absolutely glowing.]

Kiwi, this is Reve. Reve, this is Kiwi. Welcome home, both of you.

[Will nudges the Hypno encouragingly; she glances between the two, then straightens and offers the bard a hand as prompted. Meet your newest roommate, Kiwi?]

[Now that... that sounds fascinating. And timely, given what's been going on in his own household lately and others around. He's well aware by now that the nightmares aren't his and his roommate's alone.]

Well, now, what a curious companion you have there, lad. I'd almost say she knew what was happening, for her to have arrived at such a time.
