[Hello Havenwell! You are, by now, surely no stranger to what a video entry to the network containing one vaguely worried, vaguely upset subject might entail. Here we see Tamaki, seated in the living room at his Havenwell-designated housing, hands occupied by one spoon and one glass containing the tail end of what looks to be a sweet dessert of some kind, and looking just... terribly anxious.]

My roommate, and, uh, my friend, Nagicchi, he hasn't been back in a while. I know he's not the only person who's gone missing lately, and I know he wouldn't just abandon me, so... he might not be coming back, I guess? I don't know if I should still be keeping an eye out for him.

[He frowns, frustrated and feeling a little defeated at the admission. That spoon is moved around to fish out some of the contents of the glass, but he doesn't quite move to take a bite just yet.]

It's really lonely here without him, though. [Okay now he takes that bite, pensively finishing it off before speaking up again.] If anyone else is looking for a roommate right now, I think I could use the company.

[ Why hello! He understands being unable to project false emotions, and he's really not judging. It's hard missing someone who you didn't expect to lose. ]

Yeah, I get that. It sucks, but you're here, and he probably wouldn't want you to dwell on it too much? Take it one day at a time and treat it like your life at home is kind of on pause?

[Honestly, that's probably the only way he's going to really be okay with this whole situation - treating it like being here is putting everything else on pause. Even if that means... no one would really know he's missing. Is that more or less worse than them being worried? He just! Doesn't know!]

I guess so... I know he wouldn't want me to be upset. It's really hard to just not be upset, though.

[ It takes a while to get used to it, he really understands. Being away from home- especially from family- is a difficult transition... It sucks, but there's not much to do about it. ]

The thing is, you're allowed to be upset about it. You didn't exactly get asked to come here in the first place. I haven't heard of a place that gave you the option.

Yeah... [He's just kind of tired of being upset by now. It'd be nice to not be, but, again, it's just tough to let go of.

On the other hand, a distraction is good for at least a few moments of putting those thoughts out of mind, and Carl's said something interesting enough for it,] You get swept off to a lot of places like this or something?

Not a lot of places, but I was in a place called Drift Fleet before this for three years. Did a lot of planetary traveling.

But there were plenty of other people there that had been to other places before, too.

[That sounds like the kind of thing that's probably a little over his head, but he's kind of interested in what he has to say regardless.]

Huh.

You've probably been away from home for a real long time then?

[ Nah, it's easy enough, Carl's just being kind of vague. ]

Kind of? I went home once or twice, but after that? The Fleet was my home. Then I showed up here.

[Uh... huh. That's pretty interesting.]

So you'll probably go back to the Fleet whenever you're done here? [Planetary travel... so lots of space stuff, right? That sounds pretty cool. An interesting life to go back to, he figures.]

I don't think so, no. I'm probably stuck here.

[ He..doesn't seem particularly bothered by it, though. ]

Ah. That's gotta be rough.

[Whatever the circumstances behind it are, losing your home twice sounds. Rough. Even if he doesn't seem to ruffled by the idea.]

[ He shrugs. ]

Home isn't a place, it's people. Back home, we moved around a lot, so it never mattered where we were so long as it was together. Blood or not.

Yeah...

[That sentiment seems to hit him pretty squarely, and he looks off to the side, a little wistful for a minute.]

Yeah, that makes sense. Does that mean those people are with you here?

I have a few people that came from the Fleet. Nobody from home, but it's probably better that way.

[ He offers a pained smile. ]

After watching your family come and go pretty frequently, it was just easier that they weren't around.

[He... he gets it, in his mind he does get it, but in his heart, Tamaki thinks that's a pretty bleak way of putting it.]

That... sucks. That really sucks! Like, it's good that you aren't totally alone, but seeing people you know come and go all the time isn't fair!

Yeah, it sucks. It was harder at first, but now that they're not around, it's better. You miss them a little less because you know life is going on for them, anyway.
