[Good morning Havenwell! A chipper little guy (a Pokemon or something?!) is waving into the camera some time a bit before lunch on this fine Lasra day.]
Hello to my fellow Havenwell citizens~! It's me, Magolor. You may have heard of me already! The natives of our beautiful city called me your emissary, and I take their words very seriously! When I feel like it.
[Smile.]
Hehehe, just kidding! I'll get to the point now that I've introduced myself. I really do care about closing the culture and knowledge gap between us offworlders and the natives. Since we're going to be living here for a while and they owe us so much, it's only right that everyone's as comfortable, happy, and informed as possible. That's my job!
I'm going to pay the council another visit soon, so all I'm asking of you is that you chip in with anything you'd like me to either pass along or investigate. What do you really wish the natives knew about taking better care of us? What do you reeeeally wish we knew about whatever's going on here? Pass it along to me, and I'll pass it along to them and get the conversation started! Last time they listened to our requests and put some real work into fixing up the food replicators, but by now I think we've all got some more important concerns to pass along, huh?
Anyhoo, you can respond to this message if you have any input. Or, if you'd rather things be off the record and a little more personal, I encourage you to come meet me today at Petals & Pages! I'll be there waiting for anyone who wants to chat. The couches are super comfy! Major shout-out to Vianca, the second-tiniest entrepreneur!
[He's the tiniest, duh. Not counting Vianca's plant self. He's being a good boy and not mentioning that about her!]
Laaaast thing: I'm going to see if I can't get another look at those archives we were all working in a few months back, so let me know if there's anything you'd like me to keep an eye out for when I do. Even I can't read an entire library at once. All right, I've blabbed enough! Come drop by for a chat! Or embrace cold technology and reply to me here. ♥ Bye byeee~.

Yes! Hello Grand Emissary Magolor! I would like to know why some people get to go home, but not others! Any information about this, please!

brightens at the address, scribbling something into the notebook he's got by his side. It's an actual paper notebook, which he way overspent for early in his stay here, it not having occurred yet to his genius ass that paper is hard to come by on a planet with few trees left. But it is at least useful for anything he doesn't want in his tablet, or when he's doing video.]
I'll add it to my list! Though I'm not sure "get" to go home is the right word for it. Have you heard about the vanishing sickness?

[ DECEPTION FROM THEIR ROBOT OVERLORDS?? ]

I can't tell you for sure. That's part of the problem! I know of one way that people disappear from this world. But not everyone knows about it, and if there's a second way, obviously not everyone knows about that one, since I've never heard of someone just "leaving." So either way, there's an issue in communication between the natives and us, right?

[ Her head dips, even as she keeps holding the communicator out the same way. Getta load of the top of her head, Magolor, maybe you can even see her roots starting to show. ]
... I saw a tiny hint of something, and just got caught up in being mad and feeling sorry for myself without thinking about it any further... I did it again....
[ Hope you don't mind all this casual oversharing about her personal failings. ]

text;
I have spoken to some natives and informed them of the lack of appropriate medical care for those of us with biological forms. I mentioned perhaps refurbishing an area to make a dedicated clinic, but I imagine a respected emissary would have more luck in that regard than I.
Perhaps if a central clinic were established and capable of treating those who venture beyond the barrier, they may be more inclined to allow us access.
Do you have any access to botanical researchers, or those who manage them? Or mayhap simply someone I could discuss manufacturing of proper medicines and treatments with. The botanical gardens have flora that I know can be used to treat certain ailments.
Establishing proper medical care is something I believe is of utmost priority for our safety. If something were to come through the barrier and bring disease with it, many of us would be at risk of infection without the means to fight back.
I shall try to make a list, as it may be easier.
• communication with researchers to discuss production of needed medical supplies
• a central, dedicated clinic with the following:
» a sterile room suited for surgical procedures
» sterile surgical equipment
» an isolation ward suited for a minimum of 5 average-sized human males
» a small lab with equipment to test fluid samples/do diagnostics
» a stock of sterile bandages, towels, antiseptics, suture kits, a defibrillator, dried herbs with labels, beakers, vials, syringes, cleaning supplies, et cetera (I have a more expansive, detailed list)
» sinks and antibacterial soaps
» a washer/drier for reuse of supplies
» a medical autoclave
I have various textbooks and literature available should they require more information.
If they wish to learn advanced first aid techniques I am capable of teaching them, though first I would need supplies.
My thanks.

No, thank YOU! Look at you, doing my work for me. I appreciate it! I'm the furthest thing from a medical professional you can get...except maybe the natives.
I do at least have an organic body and all! That's one step up from our dear hosts.
I brought up the lack of medical care last time, but it was less of a concern than the food issue back then, according to the first survey. So, the natives made the decision they thought was best.
But a lot has happened since then, and I think we'd all agree this is relevant by now. Most of us have been sick in the past couple months, or done our time fighting on the front lines. Anything could happen and we wouldn't be prepared for it!

My partner below seems to have covered what other worries have plagued me, though I will add that the option of VR is unavailable to me. I am physiologically incompatible with the helmets.
May I also suggest for construction a playground for what children there are here? Some swings, 'monkey bars', a slide, things to climb and exercise with.
For adults, I will suggest offering obstacle courses for those in need of more physical training. I know there are enough capable adults here who may benefit from something set up upon the lower rooftops. A parkour course around the city, if you would. Less safe for the unskilled, but for those of us in need of physical stimulation it would be faster to implement than a facility (which I would still desire). Think of it as something to hold us over until more suitable options become available.

[He's smiling down at his phone as he imagines the likelihood of he himself ever complaining about not getting enough exercise. Some people are lazyass bums when it comes to that kind of thing, and he's one of them. Do not leave him to make any decisions about physical health.]
Let me ask you something else. I'm not sure how likely I think they are to build it themselves, or if they'd rather give us the property and materials and tell us to have at it. And I'm not sure which of those I think is the better option either! Any thoughts? I'd like to have thought it through a bit before I go laying this on them.

text, with apologies that the XIV cast is just like this
To put it quite simply, the majority of us are idle. And while it is possible to spend some days or even weeks in that state, after months it begins to wear one down. The ability to do satisfying work - and for most, 'sitting around cuddling' does not qualify - is a requirement for long-term mental health, and a need deeply unmet in this city. There is nothing to achieve that possesses meaning on an individual level.
My general recommendation is the establishment of a place for learning and the practice of skilled trades, including but not limited to:
-> An arena in which our warrior-inclined can work their bodies, in martial arts if not with weapons.
-> A centralized location for study; the wariness of the natives regarding potential damage to their archives is understandable, so this would likely require a new space for less fragile resources.
-> Space, tools, and materials for the practice of trades. I believe our primary needs as a community are for tailoring, small smithing, cobbling, and the like, followed by carpentry and other items of personalization for our living spaces.
-> A community garden, for the use of fresh crops in our food, rather than replicated ones, and the accompanying seeds to fill it, if such items exist within the city.
-> A place where those not familiar with the kinds of technology in this world can go to seek aid and explanation from others.
-> A place for the practice and performance of music, theater, and cultural pursuits, should any of us be so inclined.
Additionally, this space might include classrooms and discussion halls. I do believe that we who are not natives to this city find ourselves in need of at least one large meeting hall, both for the discussion of announcements such as this one, and for the hosting of events that are too large for anyone's private residence.
And as a final point - a place of worship that is non-denominational, rather than affiliated with the gods of this world, would not go amiss.
Obviously, any of these requests, much less all, would take time and space to establish. I have no expectation that any of this should occur overnight. Should you or the natives desire more information or assistance in this, please feel free to contact me.
As a related point, I would ask that you stress to our hosts that not all are as comfortable with the simulations as they are; indeed, many who are unfamiliar with the technology are actively uncomfortable with the idea. Whether it be because they do not wish to leave their bodies vulnerable, or because they do not wish to use something without understanding its workings, there is a significant portion of our group who simply do not use the simulations and have no intention of doing so. This group's needs must be considered as well - virtual spaces fulfilling the above requests won't resolve the underlying needs.
My sincerest appreciation for your efforts, Emissary.
Emet-Selch
I am blessed with these beautiful walls. text;
As a general rule, Magolor prefers video, but responding to these that way doesn't feel appropriate, so he texts back:]
And my sincerest appreciation for the time and thought you put into this! Way to make my job easier. If you aren't opposed, I'd like to present this letter to them in its entirety, or I can edit it as you like. You've got a unique but important set of requests here. I can't lump it in so easily with the rest of my results.
I've always thought the simulations felt a liiiittle bit like the natives' own needs forced on us too. I don't know if you saw the early stages, but they were pretty rudimentary! They didn't accomplish much us organic types can't just go out and do anyway without dealing with the technology. The same isn't true of the natives, though. So, any improvements in the tech benefit them over us.
I can't say I blame them for focusing on their own needs SOME of the time, but if they're going to try pointing to it as a substitute for any of the above, I'll join you in your protest. At least, when it comes to what they can reasonably accomplish.
But that's up for them to tell us, and only for us to ask. So believe me, I will.
text unless otherwise noted
The resulting vertigo is most unpleasant.
I have no idea what sort of spaces might be available within the city as it is, but I can detail further concepts for the space as needed. The sparring arena and gardens are, one would think, the ones that would have the most difficult space requirements.
If you should wish to discuss such things in person, I can visit your location, o you might come here - I have spent much of the last few days in front of the temples on a project which, if I may flatter myself, I think few passerby have failed to notice.
