[Cor was not intending, initially, to do this as a video. Such requests would certainly go better if someone has a face to go with the voice, can see the type of person they'd be working with. He's as stern as ever, even if there are subtle indicators that he's been exerting himself recently. The ever-present jacket discarded for once, sweat clinging to his face, breathing slightly elevated.]

I know I am not alone in being unused to such... quiet. I suspect many of you are from worlds where such unquestionable peace is not the norm. I am a soldier, as I have ever been, and there is familiarity in the discipline of body and mind.

[A noise off screen, an animal perhaps? Something dying? A lazy king snoring? The deepening scowl on Cor's face makes it apparent that whatever it is Cor isn't happy about it.]

If anyone would like to join me in the mornings for training routines perhaps we can teach one another of the fighting styles of different worlds.

[Again a noise, this time more like a chainsaw or motor boat than an animal and Cor takes a moment to wipe sweat from his brow, heave a sigh and his expression turns a touch apologetic.]

Also if anyone has access to a chess board or mahjong table they'd be willing to share I would greatly appreciate it.

[He's actually quite pleased Carl has weighed in on this. Of all the people he's spoken to, aside from those he knows from Eos, Carl is probably the most capable. Maybe Honerva but he's not sure how much her caution would translate to physical power.

He's also helped in bringing Ignis back up to his usual terrifying self so he's used to teaching ways to compensate for handicaps as well.]

Most of my practice was learning how to get out of holds or to gain distance on someone again. The woman I trained with was a spy- she thought that would be better for me than anything else.

I'm still not that great at throwing a punch.

[ Honestly, most of her training had gone into helping him relearn his depth perception and get his aim back. ]

You don't need to be if you know where to hit.

[Considering what he's dealt with gaining distance was probably the best. Unfortunately, where Cor's from when one of your team goes down they get back up and come after you too.... only as some sort of monster. Ronin, Gargoyles, Imps, godsforsaken giants.

Distance doesn't get you too much in those situations.]

[ Carl doesn't have anything quite like that where he's from, but the dead coming back to life isn't much to sniff at, either. Walkers were easy, though. Get them in the head or in the eye and they usually go down. Everything else is a bit harder task. ]

What sorts of weapons do you normally fight with?

A gun if I can, though if it's close, my knife. Especially if we don't want to draw extra attention.

[ Cor reminds him a bit of Daryl with how little they both dish out emotion. He knows better than a lot of people that it doesn't mean that they're assholes, just that they're a bit gruffer than others, and that's okay. ]

Guns are hardly my specialty. There's a young man here by the name of Prompto, one of my best students. He excels at marksmanship so he would be your best bet for practice on that front.

[Cor nods a little as he shifts the phone to his main hand holding it back so that when he drew kikuichimonji out of the armiger in a flash of blue light and shattering crystal sounds most of the length of the wakizashi would be visible. Even for a wakizashi it was still a good 18" long.]

This is the smaller of my blades but I have training with more traditional daggers as well.

[ Carl files that name in the back of his head for later. He'd have to pay Prompto a visit at some point. ]

We don't have weapons like that back home, really. My best friend wields a katana, but it's normal-sized.

[ Michonne was badass that way, but he'd never seen anyone else with a sword in the three years after the end of the world. ]

We have a large variety of weapons from the most simple sword and shield to far more advanced machinery. Again, you'd be best speaking with Prompto for guns or anything more technical. I'm perhaps a bit old fashioned, I prefer the simplicity and reliability of a good blade.

Talk to Prompto about guns, got it. I can't say I've ever really learned how to use a sword. Thought about it a few times, though. Didn't really get around to it.

Well we all seem to have an abundance of time to learn now, if you'd like.
