[Cor was not intending, initially, to do this as a video. Such requests would certainly go better if someone has a face to go with the voice, can see the type of person they'd be working with. He's as stern as ever, even if there are subtle indicators that he's been exerting himself recently. The ever-present jacket discarded for once, sweat clinging to his face, breathing slightly elevated.]

I know I am not alone in being unused to such... quiet. I suspect many of you are from worlds where such unquestionable peace is not the norm. I am a soldier, as I have ever been, and there is familiarity in the discipline of body and mind.

[A noise off screen, an animal perhaps? Something dying? A lazy king snoring? The deepening scowl on Cor's face makes it apparent that whatever it is Cor isn't happy about it.]

If anyone would like to join me in the mornings for training routines perhaps we can teach one another of the fighting styles of different worlds.

[Again a noise, this time more like a chainsaw or motor boat than an animal and Cor takes a moment to wipe sweat from his brow, heave a sigh and his expression turns a touch apologetic.]

Also if anyone has access to a chess board or mahjong table they'd be willing to share I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not sure they'd be any match for him. Napping is something of a habit of the lineage.

[Immediately after making the request he makes his way into the kitchen, brewing enough coffee to both himself and Ignis up and functioning for the day. Then he goes abut making breakfast, the eggs are more orange than yellow, the toast more blue than white but it's edible and what's more it's not out of a can. While he's making preparations he answers any immediate responses.

One plate is left on the counter with a cover and thermos of coffee for Ignis while Cor takes the rest into Regis' room, hoping against hope that the smell of fresh coffee and eggs will rouse him.]

Majesty, it's well past time to get out of bed.

[At first the only response that Cor gets is a soft grumble. Even the smell of coffee only does so much in the face of a sleeping Lucis Caelum. It works about as well as trying to wake up a cat by calling their name. Fortunately for Cor, this particular 'cat' is also a hungry cat, so between the smell of coffee and food, some small progress is made in the form of Regis peeking out from under the blankets with wary eyes.]

If this is a trick, I am got to freeze your feet to the floor and tickle you mercilessly until you apologize.

[You know better, Regis. But he does come closer, setting the plates aside on the night stand, two mugs of coffee in hand. One black, one doctored to the point of hardly being coffee anymore.]

Lup can't help yawning a bit herself, as it's still quite early, but sleeping is just a luxury for her anyway. This guy's fun, so she can wake up for the sake of amusement.]

I might. You're really not looking for a specific fighting style? Because I use magic more than melee, but I could definitely use some practice dealing with it solo until I find myself a decent tank.

With His Majesty here I have no small amount of magic I can access on my own that I am, admittedly, out of practice with. If you'd prefer to keep a fight magic based we can do that, or if you want practice blending styles I may be able to assist.

Ideally you won't have need of a tank but in case you're caught unawares it would be good practice, your grace.

Well, I've got a magic sword that I could probably stand to learn a few new moves for, in case things get dicey around here. I've learned not to count too much on peace. Plus, I need to gather more components before I can use a bunch of my spells. So yeah, both might be good.

I'd offer to keep you company, but I'm not sure our kinds of training are compatible. Maybe the replicators could make a..... sooooooort of accurate game board? It'd probably be better than nothing, at least!

I would not be opposed to company even if it is not necessarily for training.

I think I would prefer to get the raw materials and attempt to make something myself than trust the replicators.

[See Dave is a logical human being. Dave knew how to whittle. Dave could have taught Cor a few things but he was always too busy... Cor, please be more like Dave.]

Hehehe~ maybe a real soldier like you could teach me a little more about strategy to improve my battle style, though? Or I guess I could stand to work on my telekinesis more. I haven't really needed it that much, but you never know.

If we can avoid violence that would, of course, be ideal. It never hurts to be prepared though. And it is good exercise.

Adjusting to idleness tends to go against the nature of a soldier.

[ It is odd for her to be in the position of being more familiar with the need for recreational activities than others, if only due to recent experiences of having to forcefully adjust her own nature. ]

I have not come across such items as you have mentioned here, but perhaps those can be created to fulfill such a purpose for exercises of the mind, if you can inform me of what is required in them.

[ Chess she's more familiar with, mahjong not at all, but interpretations vary, even so. ]

Mahjong is an old Cleignish game I doubt anyone will recognize. [Ah the troubles with staying true to a culture that's largely been swallowed up by modern progress.]

At least with strategy games I can keep my mind sharp, even if it is far less than commanding literal armies as I'm used to. [A sigh, the eye roll audible in his tone.]

Have you been holding up against this ah... stagnation I believe is the word you used?

If it is not considered a recognizable game, then you have an option to teach it to others who may possess an interest.

[She has known all too many things to be lost to time and destruction, but there seemed to be little point in lamenting something he might be able to do with his time if he had the care to.]

... I keep my time filled with studies, and minor tasks to alternate, if there are no other distractions present.

Nonsense, given your age and dexterity I'm sure you'll be quite the challenge. And if not, we can get you there.

[He's actually quite pleased Carl has weighed in on this. Of all the people he's spoken to, aside from those he knows from Eos, Carl is probably the most capable. Maybe Honerva but he's not sure how much her caution would translate to physical power.

He's also helped in bringing Ignis back up to his usual terrifying self so he's used to teaching ways to compensate for handicaps as well.]

Most of my practice was learning how to get out of holds or to gain distance on someone again. The woman I trained with was a spy- she thought that would be better for me than anything else.

I'm still not that great at throwing a punch.

[ Honestly, most of her training had gone into helping him relearn his depth perception and get his aim back. ]
