Good afternoon! I come to you today with two questions.

First, or those of you who have come from a time or world significantly different from this one, what has helped you to become accustomed to said differences?

As to the second question... What wines available on this star would you recommend? Dry, red wines are preferred, but if there are any with particularly strong flavors I humbly request you include them as well, even if you would not necessarily claim them to be the best of the batch.

You can order custom dishes for a fee if you give sufficient notice. I put in custom orders a few times a month. Lup is very good at what she does!

The café is closed today so that would be a second much less small problem.

My wine is not dry, but it is red and quite good this year. I've some pomegranate cherry wine, and some sparkling caelumfruit wine. The sparkling wine is fizzy.

Ah, so that is what the bottles I've seen around the house have been for.

And as I have yet to sample either, might I trouble you for a bottle of each? All the better to have more choices on hand.

They will be ready on the kitchen island when you need them, along with some snacks that match well with the wine.

If you insist on repayment you can take Hythlo out to play for an afternoon, when you've time and the weather is pleasant. It would make him very happy.

Letting me off easy, I see. 'Tis hardly a payment at all! But a payment I shall happily make nonetheless.

Don't underestimate what a boon it would be for me. It would be a welcome reprieve as he's been particularly clingy since I awoke. Amaro can sense the souls of their masters to some degree, so you can likely imagine what my coma was like for the poor baby.

Ah, that does change the situation somewhat. Poor thing. I'll do all I can to ensure he gets every opportunity to relax and enjoy himself while he is with me.

Of that I have no doubt. You are one of his favourite people, so he will enjoy all time spent with you by default.

Are there any particular snacks or treats he prefers? I promise not to spoil him too much.

He's very fond of all manner of fruits, gourds, crunchy insects, and dried meats. Like me, he is not too picky. If it's something he sees us eating he wants to try it, too.

A trait I've seen reflected in many a creature. I would guess that it is something innate, but I've seen it in many a man as well.

That said, I think I might avoid the insects. Not that I'm entirely opposed, mind, but if I have to choose between them and some gourds...

You can always ask Solus to make him some treats. When Hythlo was still a newborn he would create different things for him to eat, as our replicators couldn't provide enough variety. Now anything made with Solus' aether is Hythlo's favourite. 💖

So I suppose he takes after me in that way too lol

He is rather attached to that bird, is he not? But I suppose it is appropriate, given that he's his father.

[He will never stop being amused by that.]

Definitely the most lovable of his offspring, and the one to inherit his more favourable traits.

When Hythlo was smaller he would try to keep up with Solus' stride but didn't have the coordination to keep up. Eventually he began walking much slower so his fluffy little shadow could stick close to his heels.

Somehow I'm not entirely surprised.

[Not that he'd ever complain about being given that image to ponder]

Though now I imagine Hythlo more than capable of outpacing him if he so wished.

Once Hythlo has a mind to put his wings to use there is no-one he can't outpace — at least until he grows weary. He's still developing his flight muscles, so his flying time is more limited.
