[ the feed starts to show a large, dainty looking man with large white wings peering at the feed before pulling back, satisfied. ]
Greetings. My name is Prince Reyson of the Heron Clan.
As you know, we have trouble lately with the breach. To ensure such a thing does not occur so suddenly, I thought about proposing a part-time perimeter guard of the walls. I think we would be better prepared should anything happen again.
Also, as I know some people were hurt or struggling, you are welcome to see me. I have the power of the galdr which means I can soothe one's spirit, trauma and pain. Should you have need of my abilities, do let me know.

[Well, at least he's honest about his feelings.]

Were they responsible for your loss?

[He's fair, in his own twisted way. He does not blame the Sundered for the Sundering itself, but for what came after - the societies they have built, the evils they have perpetuated against each other.]
It is for the things I have seen them do which would have been unthinkable to us. Mortal man is capable of far more cruelty than I have ever known, and indulges in it with vulgar relish. It is only the unthinkable things that they have done thatcause me to hold them in disgust.

I have met good men as well. While it proves difficult to remember, I try to keep it in mind. I would not be here if a few good men did not exist.

Though I've seen a few good men tip the scales of many as well.

[ a faint pause. ]
I do not like humans, but I will not succumb to their prejudicial thinking.

I've liked some small number as individuals, even if I dislike the whole. Certainly, there are those I like better than my fellow survivors - were we not united by that commonality, none of us would be much inclined to seek the company of the others. We simply do not mesh in personality.

Lahabrea, on the other hand, runs hot - impatient, impetuous, and oft destructive in his emotions. He wishes to be the centerpiece so much so that he neglects to take adequate care and planning in his endeavors. To attempt to rein him in is an exercise in frustration.
Meanwhile, I have a tendency to be meticulous and cautious, and a need for emotional connection with those I would consider close companions. It is a bad match all around; not a one of us truly likes the others.

All herons possess a similar nature. I am the only one who is truly different.

[To be all alike in nature... Amaurot values its cultural homogeneity and agreement, it's true, but there was always room for and value in the difference of personalities. A creative society would simply be unable to thrive without such differences; people all of the same mind create only the same things, over and over.]
To stand out in the crowd of one's own kind is a difficult thing... Again, you have my sympathies.
[That seems more genuine than his initial comment, at least, though it remains difficult to tell if it is entirely serious.]

[ some things cannot be helped, like his oddity and his hatred for mankind, but he'd take that suffering over being the only one left. ]
But thank you.

A condemnation from the lost would be worth hearing again, if only because it comes from them.

Now it is myself and my sister. My father lives, but he is too ill and rarely leaves his bed.
