[The audio on this message is a little hard to pick out from some background noise - it sounds like Kiwi is in a public area with a lot of chatter.]
Hi everyone. So, Will is staying with me for a while. He's been really stressed and sad, after the monster attack and...some friends of his getting sick.
So I want to do something to cheer him up; I'm putting together kind of a last minute party. Nothing too fancy...if you want to come over, we can play some games or just talk. I just want to remind Will that we love him and we're still here!
Let me know if you'd like to come...and don't tell Will about it! I want to surprise him.

Squee~
He's dressed far more casually than anyone here has seen him. A loose v neck blue sweater, slouching wide around his shoulders to be sure it doesn't drag against the bandages peeking out from beneath the black tee underneath, creeping up over his neck a little. Simple black jeans, new less formal black loafers instead of his boots. Not a single piece of his uniform for the first time in years.
He's still healing so he is content to claim the corner of the loveseat until Will does his rounds. Cor's just watching people mingle, watching Will and Regis in equal measure. Possibly monopolizing the affections of a certain flareon.]

Kiwi approaches and leans on the arm of the couch, reaching over to ruffle Arche's ears.]
Looks like you have the best seat in the house.

[A soft chuckle and he shakes his head, giving her yet more butt scritches. This is why she's here, he's hurt but also he's weak.]
Thank you. For doing this. I haven't been able to help much since the battle...
[Of course he doesn't dare remove his hands from the demanding Flareon in his lap and he can't really nod towards the injured shoulder so the best he can do is just glance meaningfully to the side. ]
no subject
A foolproof plan!]
It was the least I could do. I know how it feels when your friends suddenly aren't there anymore.
[...But nevermind that train of thought. They smile understandingly, noting Cor's injuries.]
I'm sure Will's glad you came. You did your best, and that's what matters, right?
no subject
Still it's hard to be too hard on himself with a fluffy girl oozing from his lap onto the bard's, his fingers searching out the base of her tail under all the fluff and she arches up into it like a cat.]
He's lucky to have someone like you to look after him. It's Kiwi, right? Cor Leonis, I am King Regis' Marshal.
[Regis is so much more social and outgoing he's assuming that Kiwi and Reggie have already spoken.]
I'd offer to shake your hand but I think she'd singe us both.
no subject
It's nice to meet you.
no subject
[He actually gives Kiwi a slight smile, something he's been doing more and more often since coming here.]
I'll do my best not to steal him away too often.
[Even if it's only been a few days, having Will staying with them has been... more pleasant than he imagined it could be to have someone he wanted to share space with like that.]
no subject
I don't think he'd mind, anyway. I didn't even expect him to take me up on it...I just wanted to be sure he wasn't alone.
no subject
[He actually leans over to nudge Kiwi with his shoulder. Even at the risk of upsetting their lap blanket. Not that Arche seems to mind, terribly.]
There's more than enough of us here that there's no need for anyone to be alone.

Will, on the other hand, finds himself doing a doubletake--one of several, in fact. First, to see Cor out and about at all, and second to see him wearing civilian clothes. It makes sense, his uniform must be torn up and bloodied by now, but..... well, he can't remember ever seeing the man wear something like this before. He looks amazing, but that doesn't dampen the worry, no matter how happy Will is to see him up and about--and he hasn't even gotten close enough yet to realize that more than the outfit has changed.]
Should you really be outside the temple again so soon?
no subject
[Will you know exactly how stubborn these Lucian men are. Of course he's here. Nothing would stop him from celebrating this beautiful man. He takes a moment to pat the cushion next to him, clicking his tongue to coax Arche off his lap so that he can hold a hand out for Will, clearly meaning to shift ownership of his lap from pokemon to trainer.]
How are you doing?
no subject
[Will just laughs helplessly at that; he knows when he's been outmatched. Concern doesn't stand a chance against Cor's sheer stubbornness. Arche obediently vacates his lap to snuggle against Cor's side instead, and Will slides in to claim it himself, draping against Cor's chest.]
Much better. Especially now that you're here. I was letting myself focus on all the wrong things.
[Shameless flirting? Maybe. But it does do his heart good to see that Cor is feeling well enough again that he can be out here, and doesn't look like he's about to collapse from the strain.
Now that he's this close, though..... There's a moment of clear confusion as he takes a better look at Cor, tilting his head. It's subtle, but it's still there, and he's not entirely sure what to make of it. It almost seems like.....]
You..... look different?
no subject
Despite the blush and the brief glance around the room, self conscious of having the guest of honor occupying his lap, he does offer Will a small smile. Even curls an arm around him and leans in to give him a light kiss.]
I'm glad you're alright... I was worried. Especially when your friend mentioned how down you've been.
[And that would be him completely ignoring any conversation about himself instead of Will. Clearly not the thing to focus on right now.]
no subject
If nothing else, it's evidence that he's more or less regained his equilibrium now. He looks more like himself again, and less like the quiet, haggard masked shadow that had lingered at Cor's bedside to watch over him as he recovered.]
No need for that, Reggie and Kiwi have been taking good care of me. I'd say you should worry about yourself, but those priests must be miracle workers.....
no subject
[Ah but that comment has him blushing again, tipping his head to press lightly into Will's shoulder. He takes a moment, clears his throat before looking back up at the younger man, sheepish and embarrassed.]
Yes, something about their healing and... they insist Diacht wanted to reward me or some nonsense. I- feel rather foolish about it.
no subject
[Has he mentioned how much he likes it when Cor blushes? Red is an excellent color for him. Will reaches up to run his fingers through Cor's hair, openly admiring.]
You look good, though. Especially in that outfit.
no subject
But it's different with Will. The same worries are there but also a little thrill, a rush of exhilaration that makes his pulse quicken and his breath catch. Especially as Will so openly dotes on him.]
Yeah?
[A breathless inquiry that he's too embarrassed to wait for an answer for. Instead he follows it with a soft, dismissive chuckle, kissing Will again before answering a little more reliably.]
Foolish for getting injured in the first place. And it seems Diacht focused on an idle thought, that a few years ago I would've been fast enough to stop that ambush.
no subject
[Cor does realize kissing him to make him stop talking will only encourage this behavior, right?]
I won't argue with how appealing a nice uniform is, but seeing you dressed like this is special.
Nobody's guard can be flawless all the time, you know? But Diacht might just be on to something; maybe a little boost like this will keep you safer from now on.
no subject
[See? Just normal conversation. It's fine. Will how is he supposed to focus with you looking at him like that!?]
I... no, not perfect. I simply meant. I should have been able to keep up.
no subject
[Clearly he's not supposed to focus at all, he's just supposed to enjoy the admiration! Have a sly smile.]
I'll just have to enjoy it while it lasts, either way. Isn't an ambush by definition fast and unexpected, though? You're not supposed to be able to keep up with them, that's the whole point.
no subject
Being unable to keep up with an ambush doesn't earn one the title of Immortal.
[Or the expectations that go along with such a moniker. Unrealistic expectations? Oh yes. But rather than talking about being the Immortal.... he'd actually much rather focus on something more lighthearted. Even if it's embarrassing.]
You really think it's that noteworthy? It's just a sweater.
no subject
I think it's noteworthy that you're not in uniform, no matter what the outfit is. But you making it look so good doesn't hurt at all, either.
no subject
I chose this because it was practical, not for any aesthetic reasons.

[Will stop. It's so hard to look exasperated when he's blushing more by the moment.]
