Hello!

This is probably a pretty common question, so please bear with me. I can more or less understand why full-time, regular jobs aren't the norm here, and I guess it's not too surprising that there's no school either, but there's something I kinda don't get at all. The longer I'm stuck here, the more I can't help wondering about it.

What exactly is everybody doing all day? You're not all just dedicating your lives to skinship 24/7, right? Is there something else we're supposed to be working on, and I missed hearing about it?

Saying I have "trouble" with it isn't exactly right, but... it's way more likely that I would run into the problem of it being too much, than not enough. But do you mean that really IS all most of the people here are doing with their time?

To be fair, skinship is the long and short of what we were asked to do as a collective to help with the needs of this world... Although as for what everyone does aside from it, I imagine it varies a lot! That is, depending on interests or things they'd like to try out that weren't feasible back in their world.

Personally, learning to cook better is proving to be my current challenge.

Cooking, huh? It's definitely a challenge with the ingredients we can get out of those replicators, but I've been doing a lot of that too. I can only eat so much, though.... What kind of food is it that you're interested in?

Nothing that's much too complicated. As you've said, there's a lack of ingredients anyway. Mostly, I'd just like to be capable of cooking new dishes for variety and for my housemate. But I suppose... I'd like to learn to prepare something more tasty and filling? Curry or other meat dishes...

I can sympathize, though! I do love eating as well, though I've yet to tire of it.

Curry... it sure is hard without the roux, huh? Even if I knew which spices to use, I don't think I'd be able to get them all. Even for hayashi rice, I can't get the sauce to taste right.... Running into your limits sure is disappointing. At least I can manage okay omurice and hamburger steaks....

But a good appetite is important! You'll always be healthy.

If you know any good princess stories, that's a must! But I also like books with magic, lovely scenery, noble warriors, charming girls and cherished friendships--that kind of thing!

I've never heard it put that way before, but I guess so? Most of them, anyway. At home, I had work and school. Bosses and teachers set tasks, you know?

When one is accustomed to their directives being set to others, it explains why they would seek elsewhere for further instruction.

Have you no tasks that you would set for yourself? Those who have brought us here may have their own intent for our presence, but they have been otherwise ... hands off in how we conduct ourselves.

It's not like I can't think of anything to do at all. But things like cooking, making clothes, doing chores, and cleaning at the temple can only fill up so much time. I can read, or wander around town, but that kind of thing just feels lazy after a while. Even when I was a kid, I don't think I had this much free time! It's weird! I don't like it!
