Hello. There are a few new books available at Petals & Pages to read. I hope to continue expanding its stock.

I am also curious about peoples' opinions on something. There have been more than a few posts regarding birthdays-- do you find them important? Is it important you know someone else's? I feel as though there are many takes on this.

Thank you.

[Awwww yeah, MORE BOOKS.

Still, there's an actual question here, so Nita focuses on that for now.]

It depends on your personality, really - some people like making a big deal and throwing a party for other people, or having one thrown for them. Others prefer to be left to themselves, or just have a few people give gifts.

Some people prefer to be the ones to give gifts, even when it's their birthday! So you don't have to throw a party for someone if you're not sure if they want it.

Asking first is a good call regardless, anyway.

Birthdays are really important! It's like a holiday for one person, saying "We're really glad you're here!"

Birthdays are useful for marking the passage of time, and tracking one's growth and development when young to assure their health is good. As people grow older there is less objective worth to birthdays. So long as someone knows how many summers or winters they've seen, that is adequate enough in the eyes of medicine.

Disregarding the academic and medical value of them, however... If something is important to a person I care for, then it becomes important to me as well.

My birthday happened during a certain monster spider invasion, now that you mention it. I'm still not over it! I was robbed! Of course I'd want everyone to know it was my special day, but I missed my chance foreeever.

[This was not quite the question now was it.]

Not important. Lost count after a while. Happens when you get old.

Enjoy 'em while you can, girl.
