[It's a warm, sunny day and Gladio is sat outside of the bar on a break.

There's a tiny kitten on his shoulder and when he lifts his communicator up to his face and grins, he makes sure his little girl is in the shot.]

Morning, everyone. [His grin widens] Hope I'm not bothering y'all on this pawsome day. But I was just sitting here, feelin so furtunate to be in this amazing city then I realise, hey, I've not introduced Azzy!

[He gestures to the kitten on his shoulder, wiggling a finger at her which she tries to bat at and mewls when he removed it out of her way. She might have only had little claws but he didn't want them stuck in his index finger.]

My new best furend! [The grin is barely held in laughter at this point.] Don't you think she's purrty? She's a real glamourpuss, but I blame Tony's influence there.

I just wanted to show her off and we wanted to say hi, make sure everyone was feline good after the craziness of last month. [He did laugh now, he was pushing it to cringer levels but he couldn't stop.]

Purrhaps I'll stick around here, if anyone wants to meet Azzy. She likes making new furends.

[ Just in case, you know, she hasn't. Ann's absolutely melting as she focuses on the little fuzzy kitten, and she can't help but place her hands against her own cheeks. ]

I'll say! That's really exciting, I'm really happy for you! I can't wait to see how pretty she becomes as she grows, too. Her coloring is already gorgeous!

She likes playing with hair, so she's going to love you.

[Azzy had really taken to playing with his own hair, and seemed to enjoy rubbing up against his facial hair (as well as Tony's). Admittedly he thought this was probably because they'd been slow to getting her toys, now she found hair to be a good replacement even now they HAD cat toys for her...]

Thanks, Ann. Like I said, you can come by and meet her any time.

Good to know! She can play with my hair any time she likes.

[ At least her hair will be useful. Without any modeling gigs, she hasn't really bothered to do much with it. Not that she really needs to, considering that she's just one of those fortunate people to be able to wake up in the morning looking effortless. ]

[ She glances to the left, and then to the right, before lowering her voice as if worried someone else is going to hear her. Spoiler: she is. ]

Hey... how would you go about convincing someone a little on the grumpier side to let you have a pet? You know, just in case I happen to accidentally find a kitten after scouring the city.

Tell me you're not serious, Ann.

[Don't mind him butting in on your very public conversation]

I'm very serious, Seto. What's wrong with cats? Besides, you said Toby wasn't a pet, remember?

It's beside the point. Cats are messy, they claw furniture, they have hairballs, they track sand..

Cats are clean, they can be trained not to claw furniture, you track sand in when you walk around too, by the way, whether you realize it or not. Got a problem with that?

They shed! [He declared emphatically as if it was the worst thing in the world. Kaiba's need fot pristine cleanliness was being threatened here!]

An animal who would adore having a friend and you know it. I'm not seeing the problem here, Seto.

[ She stares at him, eyes narrowing. ]

So do you, and so do I. If I want a cat, I'm getting one. And I suddenly desire having a feline in our established household. More now than before.

[As much as he wanted to refute it, he knew the winged giraffe was far too friendly with everything.. even with the other creatures Seto used to have in his arsenal...]

... but not like cats do. [Kaiba insisted envisioning tumbleweed sized balls of fur] You do and the cat won't be the only thing I put out on the street. [Eyes narrowing right back at her. In truth, it was an empty threat but in the heat of the moment the words tumbled out of his mouth]

[ Uh-oh. Seto, you've revealed her trap card-- ]

You're putting me out on the street? Go on, I dare you. I'll put myself out on the street, for that matter, and you can have this entire apartment all to yourself. [ Is she insinuating that she doesn't need him? Yes, yes she is. Even if they both know that she'd be bawling her eyes out if that happened and also they're both definitely blowing smoke out of their bums at the moment. ] Be careful with your threats, babe~

[Time to reveal his counter-trap; Pretending not to Care!]

You think I won't, or couldn't? Maybe you've forgotten who you're dealing with here. [Trying to sound perfectly in control of the situation] Fine, I could use more peace and quiet.

[After a moment or two he does start to waver in his mind. What if she actually took him seriously]

Don't be ridiculous.... you're not going anywhere.

If you think you can, then come over here and do it. Or, better yet, I'll do it myself. [ The look on her face screams that she will do it. They're more alike than they realize -- he's stubborn, and so is she. A brow arches, and her eyes narrow dangerously. ] Fine, enjoy it, because I'm out.

[ She HUFFS and poor Gladio, who is still miraculously on the other end of all of this, will get a nice view of the inside of their shared apartment as she stalks towards the door and hilariously, right past Seto himself. ]

I know I can. [.. but he didn't make a move towards her] Fine. I will. It's not as if I've never lived alone before. I'm not some co-dependent loser who'll fall apart the second you step out that door.

[Yes. Poor poor Gladio. The tonal shift in the brunette's words happened fast.]

NO... you're not. [Kaiba reached out to grab her arm at the elbow as she passed]

[ Seto please ]

Sure, whatever you say. [ That's what she thought. She waves a hand at him as she moves to pass him. ] That's funny, because that makes two of us. See ya.

[ Except that's a damn lie and she knows it, but she's pretty sure she can keep it together long enough to get out of both eye and earshot. Probably. Except she squeaks as he grabs her arm, and she whirls around on him in an instant, frowning. ]

Yes, I am! And you're not going to stop me.

[By this point, Seto at least gets the mind to toss his device aside unfortunately it's still recording but getting a lovely shot of the ceiling]

[Under the harsh look she shoots him his grip on her arm released, his expression turning equally cold.]

Not before I do. [It was his turn to storm off in dramatic fashion for the door.] ... Forget it. I've had enough of this nonsense. [With that he opened the door, went through it and slammed it behind him. Ann could open it for herself, but he wasn't planning on returning anytime soon either.

His device still uselessly recording the ceiling.. until the battery ran down]

What the hell!?

[ Oh, sure. There he goes, trying to fucking upstage her and winning. The door slams, but she throws it open and growls, and all poor Gladio is going to see this time around is a whole lot of flailing and a somewhat hurt sounding Ann when she shouts back at Seto's retreating form-- ]

You don't always have to be so mean, you know! Fine, go, I don't need you anyways!

[ The door gets slammed dramatically for a second time, and she pauses, glancing down at poor Gladio. ]

Aha... s-sorry about that. I'll be over to see Azzy-chan soon, okay? I gotta go for now, though. See you later, Gladio-san!

[ She flashes him a forced smile and cuts the feed at this point so she can go and lick her dumb, proverbial wounds. ]

[Gladio was just quiet through all of that. A little uncomfortable, a little awkward, it was his first time seeing anyone 'having a domestic' and it made him want to put Azure aside and go and try and knock some sense into Kaiba. But he also knew that wasn't likely to work.

He just sighed when the guy left and have Ann a sympathetic smile.]

Anytime, Ann. Talk to you soon.

[He didn't linger, he let her go... But his heart went out to her. She didn't deserve that treatment just for wanting a pet of her own.]
