[The basement lab is still partially under construction, rough walls of poured and reinforced concrete, with only a few feet of tile and paneling laid down in a corner of the room where Lup has set up her work bench. The tools of their renovation are delegated to the opposite side, rented or bought from the repair shops in town for their long-term project.

Lup is sitting at the bench with a snake light on and a pair of glasses over her eyes, various carving tools strewn across the surface, and a fragment of the ivory tusk Honerva had given her in a vise connected to the bench edge. The soft and steady scraping can be heard across the room, and the ivory has begun to take shape into what will eventually be a door.]
